(100+ reviews on the web)
Golf Course Outdoor Activity
Named by Golf Digest and Golf Magazine as one of the best resort golf courses in America, and the #1 golf resort in Southern California according to the readers of Condé Nast Traveler, the Aviara Golf Club overlooks the beautiful Batiquitos Lagoon ecological reserve. The only San Diego golf course designed by Arnold Palmer, Aviara features a memorable coastal layout: par 72, 18 holes over 7,007 yards uniquely sculpted around rolling hillsides, native wildflowers, and plenty of bunker and water challenges.

The course is complemented by premier golf facilities that include a practice driving range, putting and pitching greens, an industry-leading GPS system on all golf carts, and an upscale golf shop. The elegant two-story, 32,000 square-foot Spanish colonial clubhouse features locker facilities, a full-service bar, a cozy lounge with fireplace, and the adjoining Argyle Steakhouse with indoor and outdoor balcony seating.

  • Beautiful course. Well laid out. Arnold Palmer must have very proud of his design. Tough course, especially the greens, but still enjoyable for the high handicap golfer.
  • A great golf course that has been returning to the best times with better maintenance and facilities due to the fame it is gaining as the home of an LPGA event every spring. The layout is challenging and at the same time very playable for differing levels of ability. Play can be a bit slow due to the recovering popularity of the course.
  • Arnie's design, great course. On of the best in San Diego, always in great shape. Tootsie pops during the round & cookies after. Hello. Brandi is the BEST on-course mixologist!!
  • Beautiful course. Impeccably maintained. Pretty challenging, even from the white tees. Free range balls before you play, and everyone is extremely friendly. The only reason I knocked off a star is the price. Is it really $150 better then the Crossings, or $180 better than Arrowood? Still, it's a fantastic course and facility.
  • Just played the golf course, didn't stay at the resort. Beautiful! Highly recommend. They keep this course immaculate. Greens are fast and very challenging. I will definitley play this course again.
