  • It was quiet and really beautiful. Very relaxing on the self-guided tour
  • What a beautiful and serene experience! Walk through a lush collection of Hawaii's native plants and trees! Learn about the historical uses of these plants as you climb to the top of the forest scenery. Great and friendly staff! Mahalo!
  • We took the 1pm tour and got a very good overview of a large variety of indigenous plants and their uses. Certainly recommended for botanical enthusiasts.
  • Went on the guided tour conducted by an volunteer amateur botanist. It was a fun way to spent a hour to understand the culture of Hawaii. Beware of the Mosquitos. BRING INSECT REPELLENT OR WEAR LONG PANTS/ENCLOSED SHOES.

Where to stay in Captain Cook

To take advantage of the best recreational activities Captain Cook has to offer, book your stay at one of the area's private ranches or vacation villas. Though pricey, these establishments often provide impressive amenities like guided tours of the area as well as complimentary spa treatments, fitness facilities, and access to private beaches. For something a bit less expensive, consider one of the city's budget-friendly bed and breakfasts. These places often offer sweeping ocean views that make up for what they may lack in amenities.
