Where to stay in Cape May

Choosing where to stay on Cape May remains simple because most accommodations lie steps from Beach Avenue (which, as its name suggests, runs along the cape's stretch of sand). Even choosing your style of accommodation is uncomplicated--inns and bed and breakfasts situated inside Victorian houses encompass nearly the entire range of choices. You can opt for a cottage if you prefer self-service. Budget-wise you'll find the most options in the mid-range and higher end, but a few value-driven choices exist too. Book early if you plan to visit in summer.

  • Jersey Shore Alpacas is a wonderful diversion during a Jersey shore vacation, particularly if you are in the Cape May area. Be sure to visit on a Saturday during their open hours (10am-4pm). Otherwise...  more »

  • Great and friendly staff. No cost to go to see these animals and you are given some carrots to feed them. Mostly very friendly Alpaca's (only my one friend got spit on) and the staff let's you stay and ask as many questions as you like. There is a gift shop with many alpaca textiles all are well priced and very high quality. I would highly suggest this if you have a little free time and are in the area especially if you love fluffy animals.
  • The Most Wonderful Visit Every Time. Always so personal and touching. Such lovely alpacas!! Sweet and gentle. So beautiful and they are so clean and we'll cared for. The trip isn't complete without visiting their store. It's a treasure trove of handmade sweaters, gloves, bags, cardigans, sweaters, scarves, warm socks and the cutest little alpaca toys with unique hats on them. They also have yarn from their alpacas and all sorts of other unique items. I very highly recommend Jersey Shore Alpacas and spending time exploring their store. They also have a store online if you can't make it there www.jerseyshorealpacas.com. Oops, almost forgot their adorable sweatshirts and long and short sleeves t-shirts with a silk screen of one of my favorites, Pandaman on them. I have attached a pic of my haul!!!!😎
  • Let me be honest and say that I am absolutely obsessed with alpacas. The owners of this farm were so nice and informative! I learned so much! They let us walk around and even gave us a bag of carrots to feed to the alpacas. It was amazing. Afterward, they let us into their shop. Again, the women at the shop was so nice and we talked for about a half hour about everything alpacas, including days that other farms hold events. Fantastic place to stop in!
  • SOOO much fun!! The alpacas are beautiful and friendly. Tish and Jim Carpinelli are very nice and extremely knowledgeable. The store has some beautiful products too. I highly recommend Jersey Shore Alpacas. I know we will be back.
  • Was interesting to see the alpacas but not much else right in the area.
