  • Cape May County has no shortage of breweries, at least four, but Cape May Brewing is one of the largest and most well established. The brewery is fairly large and can accommodate at good number of patrons both inside and outside when the weather is good. It does get quite crowded though, particularly with the Philly crowd during the summer. The beer here is good, though I felt the four ones I tried were each good, but nothing stuck out as excellent. The Octoberfest may have been my favorite but even it seemed less strong compared to others from the other area breweries. The outside space is nice to enjoy the beer though. The flight is a nice option to try four beers, and for a little more you get a glass to take home as well. This is probably the local beer you’ll find the most at places in town as well.
  • The brewery itself is a cool place and they do have good beers. However, this is based off of a second experience. I attended a wine festival within a 5 minute walk away and then made my way to the brewery. As a responsible driver, I took an uber. The guy at the front of the brewery would not allow me to come in because I had a bag that had purchased wine in it. It was not open and I had no intention of drinking it at the time, yet I was told I could not enter). So my 3 star review is based off the fact I had one great experience and one where I was told to leave my other alcohol in the car, yet I did not bring my car because I ubered (in an attempt to be responsible).
  • I wish I could put into words how horrible my experience was here. The best way to explain it is to say that the terrible, rude staff only serves to make the subpar beer that much worse. Case in point: me and my friends came here to meet up with our other friends who had just gotten married. Cape May Brewing was chosen because of the open space in the back. The approach was that we would just show up whenever - much like people do when they decide to get together at a bar. Although they don't serve food or have a real wait staff, we were berated by woman at the front for coming in in "drips and drabs." I'm quoting her directly, because she angrily said the same thing to each one of groups of friends that showed up. She also angrily told us that "she doesn't know where everyone else is." The establishment is literally a bar and a patio-like backyard. We found our friends within 10 seconds of being there. She was abrasive and rude about everything she said to us. The rest of the staff was not much better. At one point, our friend tried to get his growler filled. He said to the bartender, "I'd like to get my growler filled." The bartender's response was a flat, annnoyed, "I'm listening." I guess it was nice meeting such a tremendous douchebag. The beer blows. They have one called "Coastal Evacuation." All it's ever done for me is "evacuate" my "coast." I hate it. All of it. Place sucks. I'm writing this while sitting in Cape May Brewing. Come at me, bros. Oh, and by the way, if you're looking for the brewery in Cape May, you won't find it. It's in Rio Grande. Take that in for a moment: Cape May Brewing is in Rio Grande. They really nailed it out of the park with that one.
  • Great spot to hit in Cape May! The staff is friendly and there are a ton of beers to choose from. The Bog is probably my favorite, although I love doing the tasting because you get a free glass to take home. You can bring your own food and sit outside in their beer garden or sit inside away from the flies :(
  • Great brewery! You can BYOF (food) to eat while sampling the nice selection of beverages. There's an outdoor patio as well as an air conditioned indoor seating area.
