Cape May County Park & Zoo, Cape May Court House

(1,200+ reviews on the web)
At Cape May County Park & Zoo, 550 animals are cared for in a pristine natural environment. Since its opening in 1978, the zoo has participated in numerous species survival programs. Now it is home to 250 mammals, amphibians, birds, and reptiles, and a breeding ground for snow leopards--large Asian cats with thick fur and paws for walking through snow. The park is known for being particularly tidy and organized. Picnic areas, bike paths, a disk-golf court, and even fishing ponds are available. Just remember, you cannot bring food into the zoo. However, you can purchase it from a cafe at the site, which offers healthy food, fast food, snacks, and beverages. • This is a great zoo. It was our second time visiting. It's free, clean, and laid out nicely. Plenty to see, walk around, goof around, etc. The kids loved it again. There's also a decent playground out...  more »
  • Me and my husband were on our way down to Cape May and stopped at the zoo along the way. I was so surprised at how great this zoo is! It's free, all you have to do is give a donation. Before you walk ...  more »

  • Cape May County Zoo is my all time favorite. There are no entry fees; it is just strictly donation based but that is not why I love it here. Each time I plan a trip here the grounds have changed for the better: whether it's a new path, an elaborate bamboo fence for the lion enclosure or a cool hut to get snacks and take a break. The zoo keeps getting better! The animals are well cared for, with large areas to roam, and the zoo keepers are passionate and knowledgeable about the animals. I can't wait to visit again! Thanks for donating and supporting such a unique zoo. You will love it too.
  • This is an amazing zoo! Lions, a snow leopard family, giraffes, bears, otters... so many amazing animals large and small. The place is very clean and well designed. The animals are well cared for, the zoo often expanding habitats for the comfort of the animals rather than to add more to a crowded space. And to top it all off, it's FREE (though please don't hesitate to donate to this amazing place)! They've even recently added an amazing ropes course (fee required) that we LOVE!
  • Great park awesome free zoo. Voted one of the top 5 Zoos in the country. Free with donation suggested. 04.2017 Update: Lots of new attractions added and still coming including a Zipline through the trees!
  • We have visited this zoo a few times, great zoo! It's clean and seems like all of the animals are not stressed. Before you park your car please make sure you donate. This zoo is really nice, great for everyone and it the keepers do really care for these animals.
  • “You must visit” This was our first time visiting the zoo and what a great time we had. The zoo is very well kept and so easy to walk around. They have a lot of animals and birds. The zoo and parking are free, but donations are welcome. The animals had so much room to move.
