Jetty Park Campground, Cape Canaveral

Spend time at the beach as part of this 14 hectare (35 acre) site called Jetty Park Campground. Walk the beach or the long jetty to see local fisherman, manatee, and crabs going about their days, or sit out and watch the beach from the observation porch. Kids will appreciate the playground, and most visitors like watching cruise ships and submarines coming and going from their voyages. You can go kayaking, where you can sometimes spot dolphins, or head out with a small boat. Beach chairs and umbrellas are available for rent. You'll find picnic tables and grills here, as well as a full campground if you want to spend the night. A per-vehicle entrance fee applies; additional fees are required to camp. • Jetty Park was recommended to us as a good place to view rocket launchings. We had an unobstructed view . There is a charge for use of the park, but there are picnic tables, restrooms and a snack bar ...  more »
  • This is a park owned by the Port that is adjacent to the waterway the big cruise ships go in/out in Central Florida. It really is pretty cool to be right there as the cruises go in and out, the boats ...  more »
  • Nice place to spend the day before your cruise. You can sit and watch boats come and go, or play on the beach. It is a park, so there is a small fee.  more »

  • This is a very nice camp ground on the Florida coast. The facilities are clean and up to date, the staff friendly and accommodating. As a tent camper, finding places in RV dominated Florida to pitch a tent was a bit of a challenge. While I wouldn't say that Jetty Park caters to tent campers, it had a removed area for tents with lots of bushes and trees. I dropped a star for what I felt was an out of control fire ant population at my site. The staff came by twice at my request to treat, but that really didn't make much of a difference (the ants just pop up a few feet over). If you must camp here, I'd suggest bringing your own fire ant control plan. The mosquitoes were definitely worse in the tent area around the trees than in the more open areas, so consider a site with less shade if you don't want to be coating yourself with deet all day. Final thought: consider a cabin here if you don't have an RV.
  • "Most" of staff is not friendly, again I say "most" because out of the ten or so workers we came into contact with there were a few that were pleasent. The rest seem to always be having a bad day and just very snipety with their communications. It's best to get in and out of the office as quickly as possible and don't try to engage in a general conversation. Same goes for a phone call/conversation and that's when you finally get through to someone. We love the park and location. It's very well kept and clean but being sculled upon arrival and start of your vacation does not set the stage for a good time.
  • Got to remember that this is a county owned park staffed by county employees and serviced (restroom/showers) by contractors. They stay full. Great park but don't expect Disney like staff.
  • The weather has been perfect. Caught a flounder off the pier. Beach is awesome, water is nice and cool. Office staff have been great.
  • Great quiet park. A few kids here for our kids to play with during March break. Great sandy beach and ocean for kids to play on. About 70 sites. Mostly older couples staying for a few weeks. Washrooms were clean. Security drives around hourly or so. Fun to see cruise ships go in and out. Paid roughly $50 per night for a large site with 50 amp power, water, sewers, cement pad and a picnic table.
