  • It is very easy to reach this arch from main road, no need a lot of time, no need special physical skills. Not the most giant arch in the world, bur the main advantage is view through the arch. The vi...  more »

  • The hike to Mesa Arch is short and easy. The arch is nice, but wasn't overly impressive after visiting Arches NP the day before.  more »

  • If you go to Canyonlands Island in the Sky and only have one stop, make this it. It is a photographers dream, perhaps too much so. Go at sunset and there will be tonnes of photographers and their tripods hoping to get that perfect shot. But don't let that stray you, there is a reason they are there. It is well worth the visit, stunning arch in a beautiful park!
  • I would rate this arch at 5 stars if it wasn't so crowded. Be aware that the easier the hike, the more likely you'll be surrounded by other tourists. We went at sunset, but the arch will be better to view at sunrise due to the direction it faces.
  • The view that you get from Mesa arch is breath taking. I visited it twice while I was in Canyonlands, once during the day (the view of the canyon behind is just breathtaking) and once around midnight (it was amazing to just hangout with friends, under the stars, with the entire place to ourself).
  • The most beautiful arch in America. It is amazing in the evening, and slightly less crowded. Easy hike. Make sure kids stay close to you, there is a drop off by the arch.
  • Lots of people but an amazing view. The number of people reduces the rating. Good stop bothering plenty of more peaceful options in the park.

Where to stay in Canyonlands National Park

Canyonlands National Park offers camping in two first-come, first-served campgrounds and various primitive sites throughout the park. Most park visitors opt to stay in the nearby town of Moab, which offers plenty of places to rest in the form of national chain motels, rustic inns with a Southwestern vibe, and lodges. A few bed and breakfasts sit north and south of town on the way to the park, and a couple of ranches and lodges lie a bit farther from town, offering more luxurious digs in the majestic setting of southern Utah's high desert.
