Cranes Mill Park Reviews
Water and power only . Cheap price . Each site has a table and they are paved / level . Problem is only a few have any shade and this is Texas . When asked if we could move , the answer is no . Check ... more »
IF I COULD GIVE IT 0I could. However, this place is absolutely garbage. Not only is there a "no swimming rule" but the campsites are close to each other and nobody follows the "quiet time" rule. The r... more »
If you enjoy “camping” this park is for you. It is rather small and very quiet. it has larger than normal areas for each RV/camper, a boat dick and a fishing pier. The bathroom was adequate (not air c... more »
Front gate staff was helpful, bathrooms were clean, and campgrounds were quiet. Unfortunately there aren't any swimming or fishing spots nearby, despite it being located on a peninsula. If you have a motor boat and use the dock, it would be nice but it wasn't what we were hoping for. Luckily they are dog friendly and the campgrounds were clear of any hazards for the dog. The lake is beautiful.
Beautiful park with lots of room between RV sites. Bath house sufficient, but could be nicer if guests would pick up after themselves. Boat ramp great & workers pleasant.
The park is lovely. Have to give it a low rating due to front gate staffing. There was a woman working 7/27/2019. She has worked the gate on and off for a week. Today she put a sign up stating be back in 10 minutes. Entering and exiting guests could not do either for 30 minutes. She came back and was upset so many people were lined up to get in and out of a park they paid to stay in. Not sure why we cannot leave the park without her permission as well. Other staffers leave the gate open during hours of operations they wave as you drive out. They do check the credentials given to paid guests returning which make security sense.
I have been to this park 2 times on Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends it is never crowded and I was able to book it late not like other parks were you have to book 11 months in advance. It has nice campsites and it is clean. The shore is very rocky and alittle difficult to get in the water to swim. The water is very nice and clear until you get in it gets cloudy and you have to go into the deep so it can stay clear. Water i very cool on Memorial Day and warm on Labor Day. By the second day the toilet paper is gone so take your own for back up. Staff is very rude I guess because they are old. The two times we have been here our tent and canopy broke because it gets windy.
Very nice. We are on the lake side for half our stay and on the inside of the loop the rest of the time. The Canyon Lake water is a beautiful blue green. It is hot but there is almost always a breeze. A very pretty place.
