  • It is interesting to, but way over priced for the 10 minutes it takes you to go through it! If you excited to see tiny prison cells..this is your place. I would not recommend to my friends or family.

  • We went here after our trip on the Railroad. It was a nice walk around with a history of Colorado Prisons. They have a neat book in the basement of all the well known people who have or are serving in...  more »

  • Interesting stop. I didn't realize there was a prison built in this little town since the late 1800's. The main prison stopped having tours in the 1970's and is still operating and housing criminals. There is a display of a gas chamber and has some information on the criminals that were killed there and the last time it was used. The actual museum was in its day was a woman's correctional center. The museum has lots of history and information.
  • Informative visit to the museum and grounds. Closed at 6:00pm on the day I went. I got there at 5:00, and the person inside waived our admission fee and let me browse for the final hour. Small gift shop inside with some good books and jailhouse apparel, if that's your thing.
  • Cool place to see. Read about historical practices in prison. I understand why people use to be afraid to go. Everyone should take a visit once. I would go again.
  • Absolutely amazing! I learned a lot and would go back because I went when they were renovating the exhibits and would like to see what they do next!
  • This museum was a great experience! They efficiently make use of space! It was awesome
