  • A must experience when you come to the Oregon coast. Take a walk through old grown forest on a paved path from Hwy 101 to the beach. A popular surfing spot, but a beautiful forest/sea experience you w...  more »
  • I'm over the top in love with this place. The forest and ocean is amazing. There is a trail or view to fill every heart with wonder. Having said all that, I don't want to share it!
  • while traveling south along the coast we stopped here for some hiking. It was overcast with off/on rain but the trail is mostly paved. The trees and foliage were absolutely breathtaking. Being from so...  more »

  • Where's Oswald? A quick hike down Elk Flats Trail to Treasure Cove is sure to take your breath away. A bench for tired legs and a cable barrier fence allow you to safely get right up to some amazing views. During high times of high surf you might even get treated to some sea foam "snow"! Make sure you bring some waterproof shoes if its wet, the trail gets pretty soggy.
  • Gorgeous, easy hike through a beautiful old growth forest, leading to one of the nicest beaches I've seen on the West coast. The hike makes it a little less crowded than neighboring beaches, but it's easy enough that the post-knee-replacement grandparents in our family had no trouble with it. Great place to surf, fly a kite, build a sand castle, picnic, hike, and admire nature.
  • Breathtakingly beautiful vistas and trails. Giant sequoias everywhere, butting up against the Pacific coast, with lagoons and cliffs. Must see.
  • Lovely surf cove. The little hike in is lovely too. There are bathrooms at the trailhead and the beach itself. If you get bored of the beach (how could you) there are also hikes to do around.
  • Parking right off highway 101. Nice little trails going from parking lot to the beach. Several small creeks enter the sea at the beach, providing some nice play spots for kids too young to get closer to the sea. Shady forest close to the beach for times when sun is too strong. Trails to cape falcon are littered with wild berry plants (salmonberry and thimbleberry). Less crowd than more popular spots like ecola.
