  • What a spectacular sight! Having grown up in Oregon and living there for many years as an adult, I never thought of Dalhia Fields. A few years ago I went to the Keukenhof Gardens outside Amsterdam and...  read more »
  • The dahlias were at their height and truly spectacular. A lovely place to wander among the rows. Some of the names they've given the flowers are pretty funny. If you're lucky like we were and visiting...  read more »
  • I spent a lovely morning strolling through the rows and rows of dahlias, and then just sitting on a bench enjoying the view of one entire field. So much color! So many shapes and sizes! And my dog did...  read more »
  • A friend told me about the dahlias festival this year and we couldn't resist visiting it. We were not disappointed. We truly enjoyed the music, the smoothies, the caramel popcorn and the celebration of flowers, colors and sunshine. We will definitely be returning next year.
  • Went last week and just had to have a 2nd look this week. Nothing negative can be said about the Dahlia. They are all beautiful.
  • Row upon row of stunning dahlias. If you visit during a festival weekend, you can also view a variety of cut dahlia arrangements and watch a demonstration on how to make a few different arrangements and get tips on growing and care of dahlias. Food stands, including the most delicious crepes, as well as wine, beer and smoothies, are available.
  • Each dahlia plant has a clump of tubers underneath that often looks like an octopus. You can divide the clump to get 2-3 or more plants. Every company I bought from ships or sells clumps of tubers. But not Swan Island. They pre-divide plants and only ship you a single tuber for $6. To do so they employ immigrant labor who slave off with knives, fingers wrapped in duct tape, for months, all to give you less dahlia for your money. Also they divide the tubers before they put them in the storage, not after, so workers cut them blindly. It's not guaranteed that you will have an eye in a tuber they ship to you. Gaps in a flower border aren't pretty!
  • If you love dahlias, this is for you. You can look for free. They have a gift shop and they sell cut flowers.
