  • We always park at the fish hatchery and start the easy trail along the Metolius River for just over 2.4 miles to the water falls from the side of the mountain, return back to the hatchery and then wal...  more »
  • If you have children, visiting the fish hatchery is a must. Buy fish food and watch the fish jump to get it. A special place.
  • This hatchery had the usually "little fish" concrete pools, but my favorite part was the open pond where the "escapees" lived. Although we didn't see any this time, my friend said there were usually e...  more »

  • Nice attractive facility in a beautiful location. They're doing a lot of new construction as of this writing (Sep 2016) so many ponds are out of service. The overflow pond is full of massive trout and salmon—spend a few quarters on fish kibble and feed them!
  • If you love the outdoors than this place is a must-visit for you. Takes about 15-20 minutes from highway 20 to drive to; this makes it all the more worth it though. Never crowded and always peaceful, the fish hatchery and surrounding hiking trails and river views along the Metolius River are a great escape. Bring your camera! The while area is like a local best-kept secret for Central Oregon. I cannot recommend it more!
  • Amazing, haven't been in many many years. Come to see the new ponds they added... Still great info, still huge fish. Brings back so many memories. Very nice bathrooms on site, informational kiosks everywhere.
  • Great place to see river fish close up! You can also feed them :) There are feed machines, just be sure to bring quarters. There is a change machine there in case you forget.
  • Great place for family members of all ages. Paths are wide and maintained. Easy for wheel chairs and strollers.
