Jack Russell Farm Brewery is located in the Sierra Nevada Foothills of California, It is in the small town of Camino, California, midway between Sacramento and South Lake Tahoe, the beautiful rural setting of the brewery invites visitors to the area to stop and enjoy the fresh ales and fresh air.

This lovely setting, in a region known as Apple Hill for its apple, pear, and stone fruit orchards as well as its berry patches and Christmas tree farms, offers a tranquil place in which to relax and enjoy the full flavor of ales and hard ciders. The scenic views of the Sierra Foothills provide the opportunity to savor the elegance of these smooth-drinking beers (which are, quite likely, very different from the hand-crafted beers you have tried in the past) in a unique pastoral setting.

  • Out of several beers. Two white wines to choose from out of Chardonnay. Food was just OK. Would NOT recommend.
  • Jack Russell is a fun brewery with some good alcoholic ciders in the Apple Hill area. If the weather is nice there is a good lawn area to enjoy your drink and the outdoors. On our visit the brewery se...  read more »
  • We came just as a couple and we not impressed by the strong signage -- labeling adults only in areas and dogs only on leach. It reminded me of homes that have that warning sign -- Beware of Dogs We ha...  read more »
  • Whenever I go up to Apple Hill with only adults, it's always worth a stop. The cyser (mead-cider mix) is really good. They have beer too, but the cider is definitely the featured attraction) Pack a picnic: they have food but it's really not worth it. During the fall it get's really packed with families, but there's really nothing for the kids to do, so they get a little antsy. Any other time of year, it's a grand old time.
  • Great outdoor atmosphere with many different beers and wines on tap, as samples, or bottled. Can get crowded during fall lunchtime. Food is available from food trucks and stands (this is not a restaurant). Consider packing a picnic lunch and enjoy the people and scenery. Family friendly as long as it is not too hot.
  • I used to love Jack Russell Brewery, but since the management changed several years ago they stopped making their own cider and just sell a bottled brand. I personally do not have a palette for beer, so I only had their cider when going. Last time my husband & I went, we weren't even acknowledged at the bar. We used to have a lot of fun here, but it's not worth the trip in my opinion now. Bad experiences with guests RARELY bring them back through the doors, and I have not been back for years and have no plans to do so.
  • A must-visit location in Apple Hill. Lots of beer options, which is great for beer-lovers. For non-beer lovers, there is also wine and mead around the corner (in the back). They redid the outdoor area sometime in the past year or two maybe, so seating outdoors is even nicer now.
  • Great beers! Amazing atmosphere, set in the apple mountain hills, relaxing patio..
