Jack Russell Brewery, Camino

(3.3/5 based on 45+ reviews on the web)
Jack Russell Farm Brewery is located in the Sierra Nevada Foothills of California, It is in the small town of Camino, California, midway between Sacramento and South Lake Tahoe, the beautiful rural setting of the brewery invites visitors to the area to stop and enjoy the fresh ales and fresh air.

This lovely setting, in a region known as Apple Hill for its apple, pear, and stone fruit orchards as well as its berry patches and Christmas tree farms, offers a tranquil place in which to relax and enjoy the full flavor of ales and hard ciders. The scenic views of the Sierra Foothills provide the opportunity to savor the elegance of these smooth-drinking beers (which are, quite likely, very different from the hand-crafted beers you have tried in the past) in a unique pastoral setting.

  • Very dissoppointed this year with several things no chicken sandwhichs like they have had years before wouldn't sell me a growler of cyzer because apparently someone else's had exploded from leaving it on a counter for several weeks. and dispite being named after a dog breed it was the most unfriendly to dogs anywhere we visited with no dog signs up every few feet it seemed.
  • Jack Russell Brewery has changed A LOT since our last visit. I personally was NOT happy! Our daughter was looking forward to going back to Jack Russell and being able to taste the different sodas, especially the root beer that they make OR USED TO make for the children before she went off to college. She remembers going to jack russell as a child when they very first open first open and the owners loved children. Family's wereimportant & they wanted to make sure the children were part of the family. Well, not anymore my daughter was very disappointed and so was I because she's not 21 and she can't drink and there was nothing there for her to enjoy. It was a waste of our time and money.
  • Alway enjoy stopping here on an Apple hill run. Was disappointed they wouldn't fill my growler today because it wasn't their own. Also surprised that 1 beer is now $8.00. The beer was good though and I will come back again .
  • Whenever I go up to Apple Hill with only adults, it's always worth a stop. The cyser (mead-cider mix) is really good. They have beer too, but the cider is definitely the featured attraction) Pack a picnic: they have food but it's really not worth it. During the fall it get's really packed with families, but there's really nothing for the kids to do, so they get a little antsy. Any other time of year, it's a grand old time.
  • Sweet! Name your company after a dog and don't allow dogs in an outdoor picnic area!?!?!?! Makes tons of sense! Dumb! Beers are ok :/
