  • I wanted to see the Erie Canal up close. It was a pretty day in May and who knows when we will be out this way again. Someone recommended this spot so we came. While there was not a boat ride availabl...  more »

  • Love your history lesson and relaxing boat ride. It was my second time riding up the canal with the CNY Guiding Eyes region and will likely go again. It's a lovely park to explore with your dog.
  • Whether you're ready to start a new exercise program or looking for a place to take a walk, this is the perfect location. There you'll find paths for cyclists, runners and walkers alike. Some are wheel chair accessible, dog friendly and all of the trails are beautifully kept, speckled with happy trees and a breathtaking lake view.
  • Beautiful any time of year, the path is friendly to dogs, bikes, walkers, and runners. One of my favorite places, it actually influenced my choice to buy a house in the area.
  • The Museum at this location is better than the one in downtown Syracuse - the set-up is so old-time and authentic you really feel like you are back in the canal days. There is a pavilion for group outings, and the staff are very knowledgeable about their history. The park is very well-maintained and two of the trails go over the authentically restored aqueduct. A great place to walk and ride a bike, too. Liz Beebe dresses in period costume, always a treasure for youngsters, and annually they celebrate "Canal Days" which is a trip into the past, complete with a mule!
  • Could use some grooming. Trees falling over path and branches too low
