With wide-open views of Penobscot Bay and surrounding small islands, Camden Hills State Park offers 50 km (30 mi) of hiking trails and 112 camping spots. • A perfect spot to spend the night after climbing Mount Battie and spending some time in Camden. My teens found tons of activities to keep them busy.  more »
  • Hiking mid-week in November will almost always assure a quiet hike! We only saw one other hiker all day! The park entrance ranger was very helpful. Views were spectacular and the hike itself was moder...  more »
  • This is a large state park with a good number of hiking trails, but it's an easy drive up to the parking lot on Mount Battie, where there are great views of Camden Harbor and Penobscot Bay below. Righ...  more »

  • A spontaneous hike made well worth the effort once we hit the top. We stayed to catch our breath both from the climb and the stunning views. I most certainly want to go back and encourage the adventurers in all of us to do the same to witness the glorious views.
  • Very pretty small out of the way park along the Maine coast. We stopped on the ocean side and strolled along a path paralleling the coast. Enjoyed our selves very much.
  • I loved my stay at Camden State Park, I wish I could have stayed longer...The staff is very nice and welcoming. The park us nicely laid out, not a bad site in the place. The bathrooms are a but old, but awesome water pressure in the showers! Good showers automatically earn you 5 stars in. My book, yes I am really that easy to please! I hope to come back in the fall
  • View from Mt. Battie is breathtaking. You can hike or drive to the top. The hike is 1.5 mi and somewhat vertical. So if you're not up taking an hour hike you might consider driving. Either way, the view is very worth it. The lower park is very easy to access with steps going to the shore. Both times we have been here, the restrooms at the lower park have been locked. However, there are restrooms at the top of Mt Battie.
  • A Maine gem. A fairly short hike along a well marked trail ends in scenic views of Camden Maine’s harbor. For longer hikes and other views of Maine mountains, there are more trails to explore. Our families’ go-to location for a quick, rewarding hike.
