  • I take my kids to this place, it is next to the museum of Natural history where kids can play. I like to go and draw. Go on Sunday morning you will see so many little kids.  more »
  • Collections iconic - such as the Mayans and the coast of NW - in the history of American archaeology and anthropology. The building is also very beautiful.

  • Our favorite museum in town, and we like museums. The exhibits on American Peoples are well curated and well executed (engaging, interesting, educational). We visit at least once a year, and always recommend it to visitors in town.
  • Great examples of native American and Latin American culture and history. The dual membership into the natural history museum accessible from the third floor makes for an irresistible package.
  • Very interesting exhibits and history - ranges from Native American artifacts to an extensive taxidermy collection. Be sure to explore the entire museum, there is definitely something for everyone here!
  • This is a nice little museum that also connects to the Harvard Natural History museum.
  • This Museum is a little hard to find but is an unexpected gem if you are interested in Archaeology and Ethnology. It's off the list of high trafficked sites but a nice stop.

Where to stay in Cambridge

As the home of two renowned universities, Cambridge caters mainly to the families of current or prospective students. You can stay near the university campuses by booking your room at a student-oriented bed and breakfast or guesthouse, which offer simple, comfortable lodging for a fraction of the price charged by the big chains. If you don't mind paying more and wish to stay near the city's major cultural attractions, consider a hotel just across the Charles River from downtown Boston.
