Experience the history and tranquil atmosphere of Mount Auburn Cemetery, a place where nature and tradition meet. The landscaped cemetery dates back to the early 19th century and was inspired by the famous Parisian Père Lachaise Cemetery. One of the highlights of the cemetery's architecture is the 19th-century Washington Tower, which provides excellent views of the surrounding area. Explore the historical monuments, take a stroll down the peaceful pathways, and observe the rich wildlife, from plants to resident wild animals. The grounds are easily accessible for wheelchair users and visitors with strollers. The cemetery is open year-round and there's no admission fee. Welcoming and enchanting. It's well worth a visit! It's tranquil, epic grounds are uniquely a public park, as well. I have so much more to say, but Google won't let me add more!

Beautiful cemetery with easily walkable and drivable sections. Worth a visit just to see the older mausoleums and other unique architecture. During the week there wasn't a lot of people walking around.
-
Incredible place any time of the year. Great flowers all spring. Peaceful in the summer. Great foliage in the fall. Eerie in winter. All beautiful framing for the most amazing Graves in the Boston area.
-
Peaceful place and free to walk around. The Japanese thread leaf maple trees are a popular attraction here. The Washington tower provides spectacular views of Boston and on some clear days one could see much farther than the city. Well maintained place that sees a lot of walking traffic. The eerie silence of the cemetery provides an unexplainable sense of calm. Quite possible because of the green cover. Anyhow, I’d definitely recommend a walk here to calm your senses and soak in the views.

Absolute hidden gem off the beaten path. Never thought I'd say this, but what a beautiful beautiful cemetery! It's just a complete pleasure to stroll through this large historic cemetery. Go to enjoy the peace and quiet, and the lush green gorgeous landscaping.
