  • Lovely museum with wide selection of fabulous pieces made by well known artists. Great stop during a visit to Harvard Square.  more »

  • Positive: Amazing interiors by Renzo Piano and an interesting collection of works. Very Negative: Extremely rude guards (staff) who tell you off for no reason. Power tripping maybe? Black and old-ish female guard on Level 3 told me not to stand too close to the glass to view the Moon Jar (when I was obviously just viewing normally). Why would I want to put my face in the glass? Also saw her tell another Asian lady off---- "You cannot carry your handbag this way (slung on the shoulder towards the back). It has to be on the side". REALLY!!!??? She was standing in the middle of the room!!!! A definite must visit if you enjoy having your museum experience ruined! They should just close the museum altogether if they really dislike people visiting! Take a page or two from the British Museum!! Nasty!
  • Very accessible Museum -well laid out. Wonderful Maurice Wertheim collection! Enjoyed it!
  • One of the city's best art museums. Very modern with a great selection of art.
  • Surprisingly good, has very nice collection. However, one of the guards there was so rude and yelled at us don't touch the glass which we didn't touch at all. Then she stared at us and tried to see if she can catch any other chances. Also, the admission tags are so easy to lose on clothing. Need to improve their management.
  • World class collection in Cambridge's oldest little schoolhouse down the road. The new building housing the collection is remarkable in and of itself. There are usually events and tours going on, so be sure to check out the website.

As the home of two renowned universities, Cambridge caters mainly to the families of current or prospective students. You can stay near the university campuses by booking your room at a student-oriented bed and breakfast or guesthouse, which offer simple, comfortable lodging for a fraction of the price charged by the big chains.
