Where to stay in Cambridge

As the home of two renowned universities, Cambridge caters mainly to the families of current or prospective students. You can stay near the university campuses by booking your room at a student-oriented bed and breakfast or guesthouse, which offer simple, comfortable lodging for a fraction of the price charged by the big chains. If you don't mind paying more and wish to stay near the city's major cultural attractions, consider a hotel just across the Charles River from downtown Boston.

  • It was a nice mall, Lots of decent stores, and certainly some nice restaurants too. It was well maintained and plenty of shopping to do on three floors.  more »
  • Have been coming to the Cambridgeside mall for 4 years whenever we visit my daughter at college. Just your average mall with a nice food court and a few good restaurants.  more »
  • Nothing special except for the Cheesecake Factory, and as it was lunchtime we skipped that and went to No name. The mall is close to the Duck tours.  more »

  • I remember when this place was being built when I was four or five years old. Definitely has a lot of history with me and was the only mall me and my family went to throughout my childhood in Cambridge. The area is very nice. It's near the Charles, Kendall, and close to downtown Boston. The outdoor seating area is very nice as well being on the water and everything. As with all urban malls, particularly in Cambridge, parking is limited and expensive. Definitely a commuter mall. But other than that a very good mall.
  • A shadow of its once glorious days. "I am the great CambridgeSide Galleria" saith the stone. "Look upon these shoppes, ye Mighty, and despair!" But nothing remains. Shuttered and in decay. That lone escalator in disrepair rotting away. Hark! it is the end of the American retail. A portrait of death by Amazon.
  • Lots of different shops. Nice dinning area, and a pretty outside space, with open air sittings and a fountain. Easy to reach by public transport, or car. Has a bike parking, which is nice.
  • I want to love this mall. It has amazing stores. But the building is heavily under construction and the foos court options are limited. Food options overall are good, but not the best I've seen.
  • Convenient if you do not want to drive outside Cambridge for shopping. They have a scenic side facing water which is very beautiful and from where you can take one of those quick tours on the Charles River.
