  • Tourists should not be thick at public libraries, and this is not a great example. But if you're in the neighborhood, take a look at this, who combines the Victorian era (the ten Comandimenti on marble!) et la epoca moderna (a tent covering them on electric control).

  • A modern library, which is connected with a new building on the beautiful old building.

  • Worth a visit just to see the architecture. A wonderful design for a modern, vital and active public library. One of the best in the U.S.  more »

  • We love this library! Especially the 3rd floor for kids. We’ve been taking our two daughters since an early age. They have two gerbils which the kids love to watch. The staff is super helpful and pleasant to work with. Really enjoy going there.
  • Beautiful library. Great book selection. Kids level is wonderful. Free WiFi. You can rent a desktop or a laptop for 3 hours. Bathrooms are clean. Nice little outdoor seating as well. Meter parking underground with access to library. Staff always friendly and helpful
  • I love this library. Modern architecture, open spaces, and a ride bit if historical architecture that almost makes you think you're study in a Harvard hall. 10 fee page printed per day, then 15 cents a page. I usually don't struggle too much to park in street as cambridge resident, but it might be hard if you are not. There are tennis courts in the same lot, but I'm not sure how to book them or if they are free. You can check out up to 20 DVD for free each day! ...and even xbox games or CDs. My personal favorite is audio books on players you can borrow.
  • Nice library with lots of open spaces around. The library itself is clean and nice with high speed free wifi :)
  • Librarians helpful, positive and very knowledgeable! Great lectures as well.

Where to stay in Cambridge

As the home of two renowned universities, Cambridge caters mainly to the families of current or prospective students. You can stay near the university campuses by booking your room at a student-oriented bed and breakfast or guesthouse, which offer simple, comfortable lodging for a fraction of the price charged by the big chains. If you don't mind paying more and wish to stay near the city's major cultural attractions, consider a hotel just across the Charles River from downtown Boston.
