  • We came to camp for the first time here. We loved it and will be coming back in the future. The sites are large and nice level area with picnic table. Only thing I would like different would be a standalone grill. The grill/ fire ring combo is good until you bend over in the smoke to check on your food while cooking. I can't wait to come back and stay a little longer than two nights.
  • Awesomely beautiful setting on gorgeous Lake Russell! Campsites super well-maintained! I hope to camp and fish there in the future. One MAJOR concern: I am visually impaired. Not so much an issue in daylight. I totally understand the desire to minimize "light pollution" when campers are desirous of sleep. However, the lanes to the campsites are totally unlined and unlighted. Strong suggestions: Paint the access lanes with a reflective center line. Even better... frequent, inclement weather, raised reflectors along the lanes. Despite a fair modicum of handicapped-accessible facilities and structures, the curbing was very, very difficult for me to distinguish at night. Just a good coating of a reflective paint on the curbing would have heightened my camping experience. As a result of the lack noted above, I, a normally independent person, had to impose upon others to escort me to the bath house after dark. (Felt compelled to advocate, not only for myself, but for all future, low-vision campers.)
  • The Best State Campground in the State of South Carolina! Great Staff and The Best Head Ranger leading them.
  • Love this place very nice and we not stacked up in each other lots of space.will be coming back..
  • Larger lake with boat slip rentals and a good walking trail. About 1 and 3/4 Mike's long. It was not overly strenuous. Good Crappie and Bass fishing.
