  • Third time I've played here. Great mix of challenging holes, but all are fair with no trickery. Some may find the grain on the Bermuda greens difficult to manage, but they were in very good shape. In ...  more »
  • This is the fourth time I have played this course and every time the pace of play is worse! Although the course is in great shape and is an interesting track, I can't recommend it due to poor manageme...  more »
  • Great conditions all over the course. Wide open fairways with good bunkering make this course both a bombers course and a shot makers course. There are many good holes, but the 18th will be the hole t...  more »

  • I was part of a 16 Man group that played in the Calabash area last week. Our problems started as soon as we got to the bag drop. The employees there were less than pleasant and more like downright rude. Evidently the course does not have enough golf carts to support all of its customers so our guys had to hump their bags to the range and practice green. These guys got really snotty when we were taking a group picture and started yelling at us to get on the carts-that they just brought to us. I confronted one of them who was mouthing off the most and he told me I could have his job anytime. I refrained myself from slapping the taste out of his mouth. This was not the way to start a golf trip however it became a common theme in this area. The course was less than spectacular both in layout and conditions. Go to Sandpiper Bay, both the staff and conditions were great.
  • Nice course. Greens are always in good shape. Our whole group like it.
  • Greens are in excellent condition. Course has wide fairways, which can be forgiving. 18th hole is a challenging par 6.
  • My round at the Farmstead was not without hesitation. I had been recommended this course by my hotel concierge, but when I pulled up, the fairway facing the road had SEVERAL dirt patches in the fairway. What was I getting myself into? Plus, the 15 cars in the parking lot told me something wasn't right. Well, I guess they are "transitioning" grasses right now, announced by big signs in the pro shop. Even the guy working the counter wasn't thrilled with the conditions when I asked him. But I had pre-paid for the round, so here we go... This course is really fun. Not terribly exciting, but you could see it could have been a really premium track if not for the conditions. So only 4 stars for that. But I did have an amazing round (even if I did play it alone), the greens were in great shape, and there were plenty of tricky pin placements. Oh, and I was done in 3.5 hours. An extra bonus. Lastly, ask for grilled onions on whatever you order from the grill - my chicken sandwich was worth an extra half-star alone!
  • Love the course especially the par 6 finish. We play it a couple times a month.
