  • A fascinating piece of engineering. It is pleasant to sit by the canal and watch the boats going up and down but seeing the bridge lowering and the train coming over is really exciting.  more »
  • Bourne Mass great place to park and ride your bike or walk along a canal the railroad bridge come down to allow the train to go over the canal there is a restroom
  • If you happen to like railroads and if you have a day to spend doing something different while you're on the Cape near the Canal, go to Buzzard's Bay and get on the 9:20 train to Hyannis on Saturday or Sunday. Round trip fare is $8.00 (seniors is $4.00). You get to go over the historic railroad bridge and spend the day in Hyannis. The train crew does too and then at 6:40 pm, after all the ferries from Nantucket get back to Hyannis, the train leaves for Boston's South Station. Get off in Buzzard's Bay, get back in your car and head out. We had two dogs, they were welcomed by the conductor and even though they were nervous on the way out, after walking all day in Hyannis, they slept like babies on the way back.
  • Very clean and peaceful area to enjoy the boats and sailboats under the railroad bridge and canal.Bring your bikes, skateboard, roll blades and enjoy the stroll along the canal.
  • Nice walking area, tables available for picnics & small get togethers.
  • A nice area to walk the canal , or village ,scenic & public bathrooms are maintained...
