  • The pedestrian mall know as Church St Marketplace is not very exciting. It is a gathering spot, but there is not much to see. Outdoor dining and a few small shops sprinkled in does not make for a memo...  more »
  • Always have to come here when visiting. Love the local shops and restaurants and no way I'd pass through town without walking through. Love it!  more »
  • This is a must see! We loved just strolling about people watching and shopping. It is an eclectic mix of restaurants and shops with some outside vendors/artists too. They just put up the white lights ...  more »

  • I visited Church Street many times while my daughter was a student at UVM. It is a fun shopping area with stores for everyone - old favorites like Banana Republic and J.Crew, a great inexpensive jewelry place called Zinnia, a large, customer-friendly LL Bean, and some small specialty and consignment shops. Lots of great food choices as well, including a great Asian noodle shop, the famous "dumpling lady" who makes delectable Chinese dumplings from a cart, and the requisite Ben and Jerry's. There are several parking garages within walking distance, and they are free on Sundays. Wonderful view of Lake Champlain from certain vantage points. A fun place to eat and shop, especially during foliage season!
  • Something for everyone. Several blocks of shops and eateries. Beautiful brick made walkway from end to end. The old church at the very top. Many more shops and eateries on all the side streets. You can just sit and watch as often it will be crowded on sunny warm says. Street vendors as well as peddlers playing music or other talents. Dogs welcome as well. Many events throughout the year and big decorations for Christmas season.
  • It's a great place to bop around with the family. It's a walking street so you don't really have to worry about traffic. The stores are nice but it isn't thrift shopping. Also there is a ton of great locally sourced food everywhere.
  • Church Street (and Burlington in general) is wrapped up in all sorts of emotions for me, both positive and negative. Having spent my high school, college and some adult time here, I have lots of memories- honestly, too many memories. It is hard to see anything or go anywhere and not have some kind of personal history. And the many changes to the city over the last 30+ years adds another layer of emotions. Burlington has all of its hip (-ster) charm and college friendly vibe made more appealing to the tourist masses with the addition of many chic (chain) stores and trendy restaurants. Almost daily there are special events on and around the Street: festivals of all sorts. The weekly farmer's market is filled with all natural fancy stuff, hand made fancy stuff and fancy people talking about, tasting and buying fancy stuff. So, if you love to shop and eat and spend money and engage in mindless banter with other elite consumers of the liberal dream... come to Church Street- Burlington, Vermont. Enjoy.
  • A great place to visit for a unique shopping experience. A smoke free destination in the heart of downtown Burlington, Vermont's largest "city". Although it is our largest city, in all actually it's a small college town offering small shops, restaurants and micro-breweries. Bring the family and meet some of the nicest locals anywhere!
