Pirates Cove Reviews
My grandson and nephew enjoyed the day swimming and going down the slides and lazy river. I enjoyed the covered veranda ( you have to rent it) so I could stay out of direct sunlight. After an hour und... more »
We had a great time. Unfortunately our time was cut a little short (1 hour) due to thunderstorms in the area. The kids are ready to go back when we can stay longer. The grounds are clean and the staff... more »
My son received a free pass from his school before the end of the year, so we decided to use it before he heads back for the new school year. We went on a Friday, which is a couple dollars cheaper tha... more »
How did the new part of the waterpark the place just keeps getting better and better people are just absolutely awesome and pleasant just an overall great experience
Kids had a blast, don't know why there is a charge for tubes though. Should be free in my opinion.
The park itself is wonder and especially good for younger kids since they only have 4 water slides with height requirements. The problem is that it's very poorly managed. The staff are mostly teenagers but the supervisors are either really bad or nonexistent. Just a few examples... Inside at the food area the kids were more interested in taking selfies than taking orders. They told us they were out of Pizza and it would "be a little while". We waited for about 5 minutes and asked again how long it would be. We were told "uhhhhh, a little bit" so we ordered burgers at twice the price. As the burgers came out, they all of a sudden had pizza again. On one of the slides a lifeguard was actually asleep at his post and my wife had to step in and direct traffic so the kids weren't sliding on top of one another. Other guards were leaving their posts to squirt cold water on each other as a prank while kids were left to decide when it was time for the next rider to go. The most glaring issue was when they left a really lifelike dummy of a child float down the lazy river. One dad started yelling and I looked over to see what looked like about a 3 year old wearing a hat with his arms out a few inches below the surface. Other guests scrambled to get to what looked very much like an unresponsive child while the guards laughed like it was funny. Every parent who saw this got a huge adrenaline dump because it was an extremely lifelike dummy but it was just a joke to the teenagers whose job it was to save actual children. I get that these are teenagers and this is just a summer job but it's still a job and we payed about the same rate that we would at Hurricane Harbor where behavior like that would get you fired. While we were there for about 5 hours I think I saw maybe 3 people working who were old enough to buy alcohol and they ignored the younger employees as they texted instead of helping customers. They need to either drastically reduce the price of admission or bring in adults who aren't afraid to actually manage their teenaged employees.
THE LIFEGUARDS ARE GREAT AND THE AREA FOR SMALL CHILDREN LET'S ME WATCH WHEN I DON'T WANT TO GET IN SAFELY
Took a summer day camp here, we had a fun time. Although I wish there more rides.
