This is a local rodeo and not overly large. Which is nice. Music, food, and other entertainment on site. Get there early for a seat.
As foreign tourists, we always run the risk to incur tourist traps. I mean, many rodeos and other similar shows are tailor made for the tourist. That doesn’t make them necessarily bad, but at least no... more »
Very nice place to visit. Cowboy church before rodeo. Great job Pastor Ronnie. Rodeo was Great. Food and beverages as well as admission was very reasonably priced. The only negative was the dance and ... more »
Overall a terrible experience and would not recommend anyone visit here. 1) They were going to turn us away b/c we had no reservation on a Wed night.. strange b/c the whole place was empty our entire meal. 2) Restaurant had no kids menus printed and waitress wasn't familiar with what was ON the kids menu. 3) Waitress had no knowledge of the menu. Wasn't even familiar with differences in Prime and regular steak.. Really? Your a waitress... in a steakhouse... 4) We were seated at 6 pm.. didn't get our food till 7:30.. with the entire place empty that is unacceptable. 5) Steak was mediocre at best and not seasoned. l have no issue spending 30,40 or 50 bucks on a steak.. but I do want to get what I pay for. 6) Salads were served on warm plates which made the salad seem not fresh.. Steakhouse 101 - Always serve leafy products on an ice cold plate. 8) All the staff working that night was quite young and seemed to have very bad attitudes.. likely a reflection of the ownership and how they run the place. 9) Had to hunt down a waitress anytime we needed anything.. such as SILVERWARE.. or even drink refills... loaf of bread.. etc.. 10) I noticed lots of improper handling of cups, plates etc.. touching inside of cups.. fingers touching food before plate was put on the table.. 11) Food was over salted (green beans) or had no flavor (steaks). The owner /manager should go eat at Perry's Steak house or Morton's Steakhouse to learn how a steakhouse SHOULD be run. Tejas is just as expensive but nowhere near Perry's in food quality..service.. etc.
Simply put this is a hidden gem. A little out of the way (and I mean that in a good way) with a great atmosphere and amazing steaks! I have never had a bad meal here and it keeps me coming back! The wait staff is knowledgeable about the menu and the meat they start with is something special! A steak before the Saturday rodeo is nice, but a quiet week night lets you feel the really quaint nature of this place! We will always be back!
1. Sat down at 8:30 didn't get food until 9:45. 2. Had to ask for refills for everybody on the table every single time. 3. Ordered ribeye steak they forgot to add the salt and pepper no flavor at all. 4. Ask the waiter for dinner rolls and biscuits never got neither one. 5. Order quail came out raw manager took back and cooked it and gave me back to me the same one probably not a wise choice. I think I should have been a new one. 6. Manager apologize said she would take care of the whole bill asked if we wanted dessert but we decided we would pass not sure I would ever go there again I was really looking forward to some good food. 7. My brother and my wife ordered catfish 1 black and and one fried both orders look like Child's Plate Each one had one piece of fish. 8 Rodeo is great thumbs up to that.
Friday night rodeo was a blast. We got there a bit late and we were lucky enough to to find a seat in the bleachers with 300 + other fans. Serious bull riding, calf roping and funny mutton busting. A big show with a family atmosphere. Women's barrel race showed some very competitive 15 second times. We did a $5 steer on a stick ( skewered steak tips) and were satisfied. The country band sounded good and the dancers were having fun on the open barn-like area. Lotsa little houses spread the clientele out for the restaurant, ice cream and souvenir store, outdoor bar, mechanical bull ride. Clean cut staff.
It is a very nice place my and my best freind walker weaver go out there and help out and I love it so much being a starting out steer rider
