If you want to get a real taste of Texas this is the place. The rodeo was entertaining and just long enough. Food offerings were appropriate to the venue; not bad and reasonably priced. People watchin... read more »
We live close to this area and my husband told me about it. He had had dinner there one night years ago and said it was great. When we as a family of three went, all adults, it was very disappointing.... read more »
After spending few months in San Antonio for work exploring the city and its attraction I finally found some authentic vibe in Rojas rodeo. Distant 40m drive from downtown, this place immersed in the ... read more »
Simply put this is a hidden gem. A little out of the way (and I mean that in a good way) with a great atmosphere and amazing steaks! I have never had a bad meal here and it keeps me coming back! The wait staff is knowledgeable about the menu and the meat they start with is something special! A steak before the Saturday rodeo is nice, but a quiet week night lets you feel the really quaint nature of this place! We will always be back!
1. Sat down at 8:30 didn't get food until 9:45. 2. Had to ask for refills for everybody on the table every single time. 3. Ordered ribeye steak they forgot to add the salt and pepper no flavor at all. 4. Ask the waiter for dinner rolls and biscuits never got neither one. 5. Order quail came out raw manager took back and cooked it and gave me back to me the same one probably not a wise choice. I think I should have been a new one. 6. Manager apologize said she would take care of the whole bill asked if we wanted dessert but we decided we would pass not sure I would ever go there again I was really looking forward to some good food. 7. My brother and my wife ordered catfish 1 black and and one fried both orders look like Child's Plate Each one had one piece of fish. 8 Rodeo is great thumbs up to that.
Friday night rodeo was a blast. We got there a bit late and we were lucky enough to to find a seat in the bleachers with 300 + other fans. Serious bull riding, calf roping and funny mutton busting. A big show with a family atmosphere. Women's barrel race showed some very competitive 15 second times. We did a $5 steer on a stick ( skewered steak tips) and were satisfied. The country band sounded good and the dancers were having fun on the open barn-like area. Lotsa little houses spread the clientele out for the restaurant, ice cream and souvenir store, outdoor bar, mechanical bull ride. Clean cut staff.
Horrible, we had table for 10. The host greeted us and sat us down at our table. 12 minutes went by before I stood up to ask for a waiter. The restaurant is small so with 3 waiters that should be plenty. The place is well kept and pretty. The food was not good and what made food taste worse was the horrible service. This place has so much potential if it was run right.
Fun and casual environment set up like an old historic town and also has rodeo arena on property (will have to make it out to the rodeo sometime). Got here late on on a Sunday so was not busy. Food is excellent. Ribeye was tender and flavorful. Mac and cheese was great as well. And the blackened grilled catfish was a nice size filet and cooked perfect. Service was friendly. Prices are on par with mid to higher end steak houses. Definitely a highly recommended steakhouse with a unique experience to offer.
