  • We happened here while trying to locate Balanced Rock. What a gem of a little park! We would love to bring a picnic & a few games and hang here in the future!  more »
  • This was a nifty sight to see. People were hiking right next to the balanced rock but I stayed at a distance because it looked like it could topple over at any moment. Worth driving to but make sure y...  more »
  • We were traveling from Jacpot NV, to Boise ID, and decided to take a detour to check this place out. It is out in the middle of farmlands and than it drops down onto a canyon. You come to a park area ...  more »

  • It was exactly what I expected, nothing more, nothing less. There were several vehicles in the vicinity (maybe 1/4 mile away)doing some sort of target practice. The constant gun shots and the graffiti did take away from the experience a little. It looks like an easy "walk" up to it, I was winded at the top. If you're in the area, such as Twin Falls, I would go see it. If you're comfortable at all climbing, you can climb right up and touch it, or try to push it over.
  • This historical site is worth seeing. There is a very short but steep climb to be able to stand under the rock. Yes, you can see that it has been concreted in place, but to help preserve and avoid vandalism. There are not many places like this in the world where you can be so close without a guide or staff person. Many places keep you from even being close. The surrounding rocks are fun to climb and explore as well. Overall, a great place to do a quick "hike" and explore a site up close and personal.
  • Signs said Balanced Rock Park was closed; however there is a parking and small picnic area right below Balanced Rock on the main road. We parked and took the short walk up. I wouldn't drive too far out of my way to see this, but glad we took the detour.
  • Lots of nice hiking through canyon walls and nice views. Good campsites with water. Shooting ranges nearby invite shelters as targets so holes are common as is graphiti.
  • Not worth the drive. I have no idea why this rock is so famous. You can clearly see the concrete holding it up. It's just like the pictures that you see online. Kind of a big disappointment. The surrounding rock formations are a lot more fun to climb and explore. Great place to see if you don't have the internet and are entertained easily.
