The Buffalo Gap Historic Village, located in Buffalo Gap, Texas, tells the story of the last fifty years of the West Texas frontier. Through interactive exhibits, educational programming, historic interpretation, and audio tours, guests experience the formative years when the region changed from the Wild West to civilized settlements. The iconic structure of the Village, the original Taylor County Courthouse, represents the presence of justice on the once untamed frontier. The collection includes over fifteen historic structures from the region and over 10,000 artifacts representing the material culture of West Texas.

  • This is a great place to learn of the trials of frontier life in Texas in the mid 1800's. There are so many artifacts displayed you will spend most of the day reading about all of them and seeing them...  more »

  • Very interesting vintage buildings. Not well kept. Most likely due to poor funding. Parking is very limited and structures appear to be deteriorating at a rapid pace. If you like old buildings and learning local pasts, you should visit sooner rather than later.
