  • Took a haunted tour of the museum, in a small group. It was a chilling experience! Went back following fall for Halloween festivies and haunted tour. A must see if you enjoy ghost stories and some goo...  more »
  • My only wish is that the tour were twice as long. So many things to see in each room! We went with our pre-teen girls (who love history) and enjoyed every minute. Plenty of oddities & perhaps a ghost ...  more »
  • Didn't know this place existed. A friend took me and I found it quite interesting. Located in a big restored old house, a throwback to the past. Beautiful grounds!  more »

  • My family and I went to the may stringer house and we thought it was ok. Not what everyone on here is saying with 5 stars. Mind you its a very large very cool house that part was awesome. Everything in it though was a let down. Nothing there besides like 1 picture was originally from the house. They lead you on that its a whole house full of the house artifacts and its not. Everything in there was donated like a junk storage. A lot of it is old and very cool but we was let down that it was not original to the house. Second you don't walk through on your own time. There is volunteers there that walk you through telling you what they think they know about the stuff. A lot of people asked questions about the things and the girls was like " oh I don't know that was donated, we don't know anything about it but we think it was used for ??/" It was kind of embarrassing. One of the younger girls was very nervous talking in front of people, she didn't know anything. She was like yeah and these things over here and those things over there. She didn't even know names of anything. On top of going through obviously there was a couple people coming in after us so for the rest of the tour we was rushed through so they could fit more people in. It was a very big let down. The whole tour lasted about 20 minutes. Then they didn't accept cards, thank god we had cash or they wouldn't have let us in. Then there was wasp flying around up stairs in the attic and almost stung my husband that's highly allergic. Very dangerous situation. Then for the big bang went truly went for one reason because its suppose to be haunted and I have seen my share of ghost and had plenty of experiences and I myself is a sensitive. Even more let down I nor my family felt or seen anything in this house. Yes you have the feeling of being in an old home but other than that we felt absolutely nothing which was a huge disappointment. I have read a lot of people on here like this is SO HAUNTED, I was VERY let down. There might be spirits passing through now and then but as for ghost that's there constant I would call that a BIG bluff. I wouldn't waste my money on night tours because I did not sense 1 thing in there. But overall it was a very cool house but tour and sensing things was not a success at all. :( It would have been cool to see or hear or even sense something but I didn't. I hope that everyone else that did, had fun and got what they was looking for. It may be haunted but it wasn't the day I was there. :( Maybe next time!
  • Really enjoyed our visit, the volunteers on duty the day we visited were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommended.
  • We are volunteers here! This place is amazingly haunted by multiple Spirits. You have to check it out for yourselves.
  • Great place!! Lot to see and learn about. Wish you could take pictures though. They let ghost groups in but you can't take pictures unless you are on a ghost tour. Which you need to make reservations for months in advance.
  • I've been on many ghosts hunts and Mary Stringer house is authentically the most haunted. We got evp's, orb's, a black shadow figure and a child's face appeared in the mirror on the steamer trunk in the attic. This place is truly haunted.
