  • The Verrazano Bridge is a bridge linking Brooklyn to Staten Island, which is magnificent and spectacular. Under the bridge there are sidewalks and bicycle lanes along the coast, and there are benches for tourists to rest on the roadside, which is a good place for exercising and viewing.

  • The Verrazano bridge-named in honour of the Italian Giovanni Da Verrazzano-connects Brooklyn to Staten Island and the fact that it is isolated, far away from all the major tourist attractions in Manhattan, is even more impressive and extraordinary given the scale both in height and length. Is little known by tourists for its isolated location and the runs only through the media. Walk you can admire from the street below, the pedestrian zone of the Shore Parkway. A quick look at the merits if you get through those parts, but if you're headed to Staten Island you get chance to cross it (you pay the toll).

  • The bridge was beautiful but the toll was too much. Not to mention that it's the only bridge connecting Staten island with Brooklyn. I am Not sure if this is being exploited in order to Charge high tolls on this bridge. The view from the bridge are amazing but it can get blocked sometime. So better to review the traffic route on GPS before starting journey
  • Great views of the Hudson River. Fresh air. Safe place to bring your kids for a walk or time in the open.
  • Absolutely beautiful views. Traffic is horrendous but I always find the lower level quicker to get to the belt parkway. $17 to cross. Think about it.... That's double the hourly minimum wage...
  • Why do I need to pay so much every time I want to visit my sister? This is taking money from us! What is the next step? I will need to pay if I want to breath fresh air? The bridge is breath taking, also the price of crossing it.
  • Awesome architecture but expensive to cross..about 11$ one way. If you just want to get to Manhattan, take the SI ferry. Free.

Where to stay in Brooklyn

To enjoy views of the Manhattan skyline and have easy foot access to most of the borough's major attractions, stay in Brooklyn's downtown area. The borough's main tourism district, this area offers both luxurious accommodations for visitors wishing to splurge during their stay, as well as more economical lodgings for those traveling on a limited budget. If you don’t mind driving or taking the subway to most tourist sites, consider one of the neighborhoods outside Brooklyn's central area, such as Williamsburg or Prospect Park.
