  • I mean, the Verrazano is OK and all.. but the traffic can blow. The new Goethals is gonna be way cooler.  more »
  • At night the Verrazano is impressive, particularly when viewed from the high ground of Staten Island. It can be a terrific bottle neck, though, between Brooklyn and Staten Island. At the base, on the ...  more »
  • Do this for FREE by heading to Shore Parkway in Brooklyn. Do NOT drive to or cross over the bridge!!! Visit Coney Island, drive toward the bridge at sunset...AMAZING!  more »

  • Great new bridge, way to go! Beautiful, functional (more function than beauty) & built in record time. Seventeen years of traffic delay soon gone for the most part. Thanks and keep up the good work. Please drive safely. Love one another, is some times so very hard when in a car. So even more important to be responsible with our intent.
  • I'm giving 5 stars for the beauty of the bridge, not the toll price. It's way too expensive. $17. When you are on the bridge stay always alert, don't be distracted, because cars make sudden stops especially the lane going to Belt Parkway toward JFK. There is a sign on the bridge saying the sudden stops too. I've been hit twice from the back. You can enjoy the Verrazano Bridge view from Staten Island Beach or Forts such like Fort Tompkins or Fort Wadsworth or from Brooklyn side Shore Road Park and Parkway
  • This is the best bridge in NEW YORK CITY. I have been there many times and I really loved it. It was exciting to see the New York city from the bridge. I wished I was back there again.
  • As a resident of Bay Ridge, the Verrazano has been critical in communting to and from the city. There are plans to light it up with LED lights as park of a larger plan to light up all the bridges of New York City. I'm personally excited about it because it will bring the city into a new era and I have a pretty good view of the bridge and look forward to seeing the nightly shows
  • Avoid at all costs! The toll is $15 and you can easily avoid it if you take an extra 10 minutes north, toll-free

Where to stay in Brooklyn

To enjoy views of the Manhattan skyline and have easy foot access to most of the borough's major attractions, stay in Brooklyn's downtown area. The borough's main tourism district, this area offers both luxurious accommodations for visitors wishing to splurge during their stay, as well as more economical lodgings for those traveling on a limited budget. If you don’t mind driving or taking the subway to most tourist sites, consider one of the neighborhoods outside Brooklyn's central area, such as Williamsburg or Prospect Park.
