Where to stay in Brooklyn

To enjoy views of the Manhattan skyline and have easy foot access to most of the borough's major attractions, stay in Brooklyn's downtown area. The borough's main tourism district, this area offers both luxurious accommodations for visitors wishing to splurge during their stay, as well as more economical lodgings for those traveling on a limited budget. If you don’t mind driving or taking the subway to most tourist sites, consider one of the neighborhoods outside Brooklyn's central area, such as Williamsburg or Prospect Park.

  • NY Aquarium is small compared to others I have been to, but if you are in the area, stop on by. They are currently remodeling to add new attractions, so that's a plus. Lots of school kids from field t...  more »
  • It is not open fully open yet. Once it opens this place will be amazing, right now very small and not much to see. I can't wait till next year to go back and see when it is fully operational.  more »
  • This is a good place to visit during the day, but I wouldn't stay longer than 1-2 hr ( especially not past sundown). The area around is rather iffy for safety,  more »

  • It was alright. My little nephews (age 6 and 7) seemed bored at the show. One even went as far as actually telling me. However i enjoyed the seal show. I thought they were cute and very well trained. I enjoyed the various aquatic life as well. And the ticket price was well worth it! A younger crowd seems more likely to have fun. Good family outing though
  • It was nice. But it's not to many things to see. The show was entertaining. And me and my niece went the tickets were half off. Which was really awesome. All in all I had fun just bring your own food. I wasn't paying 5 dollars for a hot dog lol
  • Second time I go here. Not really big but it looks very promising because they are building a new indoor section and it looks amazing. I'm just going by the pictures. It's very hard to spend more than an hour here to be honest. I probably won't come back until they open up the other section unless I go to Coney island then I'll probably pass by. Great for kids though, my daughter loved it but I wish there was more. The price is reasonable for what they have.
  • This aquarium is really nice for a day trip. It is not the largest or most impressive one I have been to, but it is a cool experience nevertheless. Cony Island is right there too, which might make for a cool extension of the trip. I recommend stopping by!
  • This is a fun family outing. A lot of the experience is outdoors so dress appropriately. We got to see some cool fish. The penguins, otters and seals were my favorite. They have daily shows so check to see when online or call ahead. They are under construction now so you won't see a lot of the exhibit which is a bummer. Would recommend coming when they are done. I didn't see any options for guided tours so keep that in mind as well. Will definitely come back once construction is completed.
