Where to stay in Brooklyn

To enjoy views of the Manhattan skyline and have easy foot access to most of the borough's major attractions, stay in Brooklyn's downtown area. The borough's main tourism district, this area offers both luxurious accommodations for visitors wishing to splurge during their stay, as well as more economical lodgings for those traveling on a limited budget. If you don’t mind driving or taking the subway to most tourist sites, consider one of the neighborhoods outside Brooklyn's central area, such as Williamsburg or Prospect Park.

  • Grand Army Plaza is an amazingly extravagant war memorial in Brooklyn. It is across from the Brooklyn Museum and is an entrance to Prospect Park. It hosts farmers markets, some entertainment and great gourmet food carts. Lots going on. The traffic circle around the Plaza is something straight out of Rome. Confusion circle. It is a pretty cool spot in a great city.
  • The arch is massive and great photo op. Behind it there is a beautiful fountain with statues inside, very relaxing and has lots of old world charm, cobblestones and natural stones, time hasn't changed at this place
  • Very historical Arch an exact replica of the Arc de Triomphe in Paris. It is in a roundabout for cars at the very entrance to Prospect Park. From what I understand inside the monument there is a puppet museum though I've never been there.
  • Great place to hang out and just relax. No bathrooms since it outside and not much parking. It can also get fairly crowded.
  • Gorgeous, close to a lot of other attractions and with plenty to see on its own. Beautiful sculptures and fountain, and awesome photo op.
