Brooklyn Heights, Brooklyn

(550+ reviews on the web)
Neighborhood Tourist Spot
One of New York City's wealthiest neighborhoods, Brooklyn Heights occupies a riverside greenspace that houses a wide array of classic East Coast architecture. Known to the local Lenape tribe before the arrival of Dutch colonists in the mid-1600s, the area saw combat during the American Revolution and steadily grew in popularity as a desirable location in the following centuries. Wander through the tree-lined streets and admire the rowhouses that characterize this part of the borough, some dating from the 18th century. Stroll along the East River promenade for views of Manhattan across the water. Although the neighborhood sits in an outer borough, its transportation links make travel to the heart of New York quick and efficient.
