  • It's beautiful, off the beaten path and so peaceful. It's a great escape from the city. The people who work here aren't overwhelmed like at other gardens I've been to and take the time to talk to you and you can see they truly love what they do. The views of the Palisades across the Hudson River are also beautiful. Bring a picnic lunch with you on nice day and eat outside. There's plenty of seating.
  • This place is awesome! Very educational AND beautiful. They have arts and crafts activities for the kids and have a ton of space to explore. They have outdoor seating where you can eat your lunch when it's warm.
  • From its gorgeous 19th-century mansion to its incredible views of the Hudson River, Wave Hill is beautiful year-round, but in the springtime, it’s perfect. The magnolias are blooming and bluebells cover the hillsides, and the trees aren’t so leafy that they cover up the spectacular vistas. In rain, stay in a magnificent greenhouse or a vine-covered pergola. Cultural events all spring from jazz concerts to bird walks to art programs. Free on Tues 9-12
  • Wave Hill is one of my favorite NY destinations. Tucked behind old Bronx estates, it provides magnificent views of the Palisades, Hudson River and GWB. There's an on-site café managed by Great Performances. The children's and adult activities are wonderful. There is always some incredibly curated art exhibit or musical performance. Come in all seasons and walk the hiking paths, learn about the various trees and plants, and find a new lovely trinket in the gift shop. Very affordable, great for dates and families or just a place to meditate!
  • Great place to go with family. Free on Saturday until noon. The family art project is also a great activity for kids. Beautiful grounds. Great views of the Hudson and Palisades. Interesting trails.
