Welcome to New York's favorite neighborhood for all things Italian. The Belmont District Management Association (BDMA) is a designated New York City Business Improvement District (BID). A BID is defined as:

“… a formal organization made up of property owners and commercial tenants who are dedicated to promoting business development and improving an area’s quality of life. BIDs deliver supplemental services such as sanitation and maintenance, public safety and visitor services, marketing and promotional programs, capital improvements, and beautification for the area – all funded by a special assessment paid by property owners within the district.”

Where to stay in Bronx

The Bronx is home to a number of mid-range hotels, bed and breakfasts, and inns. As is the case anywhere in the city, eager sightseers should look for something close to a subway station for easy access to the city’s many attractions. However, you should be aware that these areas often get busy and noisy in the morning with commuters. A vacation rental provides a home away from home and plenty of amenities, and many are located in residential neighborhoods that will help you get off the tourist trail.

  • I lived around Arthur Avenue for three years when I was in NY. It was my first home in the States. A historical neighborhood (over 112 years!) that has a lot of culture - as well as a great diversity of culture. Many of my neighbors had spent most of their life here --- though not in my building. Stop by one of the restaurants or barbershops or cheese shops or bars and you will discover layers of histories --- how people came to settle down here from different continents years ago. A few steps to the New York Botanical Garden (, my favorite spot for a walk, about 15 minutes by walking, ) the Bronx Zoo, and to the subway stations. They celebrated San Antonio Day and Little Italy Day annually, with a lot of music and bright colors. Plus there were some mom-and-pop Italian restaurants that offered classic, richly flavored heroes, pizzas, pastries, and desserts. Life was hard in New York but it was absolutely memorable.
  • So glad to be back in Da Bronx! Arthur Avenue is a must when you are in the Bronx! The best Italian Restaurants and Bakeries!
  • Went here yesterday. There was a street fair. Can't wait to go back.
  • Great place to shop. A real sense of community.
  • The food is yummy and the scenery is a nice break from the skyscraper riddled city.
