  • I've recently discovered this park in Rhode Island and am in love with it. You can walk, jog or bike there. The park is pretty big, it might take hours to walk there. Picnic areas are nicely set up.
  • Formerly the estate of the man who invented the Colt 45-it says Private Property-Open to the public. I guess it's been that way for many decades. Get down by the water a take in the view-or jog, ride ...  read more »
  • This state park was stunning, with both wooded areas and water front views. Picnic tables were plentiful (not sure if they are normally assigned as I was there on a week day and the park was not heavi...  read more »
  • A hidden gem. The park is clean, cool and well kept. A great place for family or a quiet date. It's easy to find a spot away from the action if you want to get away, or you can be I'm the middle of everything. It's also on the water, so it's great for kite flying.
  • This place is a not so well kept secret, but there are enough areas to warrant coming back several times to explore, and some spots are downright peaceful and remote. Plenty of space to bring a few friends and pets and have a picnic or family reunion. There are two beaches, a ton of wooded trails, a skatepark, a bike path and a great many hidden gems.
  • Every trip to Rhode Island has had me visit this park. It's simply huge and there's something to do for everyone whether it's the small beach, checking out the water, walking or just enjoying the weather. There's even attached a basketball court and other amenities. Coming from Georgia in a county that is known for parks, this is one of the best "family fun" parks there are!
  • wonderful large park with beautiful views of the bay. most enjoyable in the summer with the nice breeze that's aways there. good kite flying conditions. can get really chilly in spring and fall . Great spot to walk pets or ride bikes
  • Absolutely astonishing views and plenty of places to picnic. This is the perfect place for a Sunday outing with the family!!! This was my first time there and I definitely would go again and I would tell all my friends and family. It's to bad Roger Williams Park zoo can't touch Colt State Park its worth the 33 minute drive. Roger Williams park is unkepted, most of the time grass is not mowed and another thing; Why are all of the museums closed. Opening day at Roger Williams Park Zoo was amazing they should have days like that, that would bring more guest and its all about advertising events, not just Halloween pumkiin carving after seeing that over and over it gets boring. Give the people what they want not just walk and see mabe if you're lucky an animal. Bring back the dancers and music thats just one of many off the top of my head. More ideas to follow. Lets bring our people back to providence, In order to do that you have to want it, then do somthing about it. Change is good and in your case its so badly needed.
