  • A nice summer day in SLC and we drove out the forest to picnic and hike. We had an amazing time and the 30-degree temperature drop at the top made it a great adventure. I would come back here again an...  more »

  • Plenty of hiking and camping to enjoy. Really beautiful scenery as well. Bring bug spray. The insects seem to enjoy the area as much as the humans. I've mostly been up in the summer time. Mosquitoes and horse flies were the biggest issue but totally manageable.
  • We hiked the lake Mary trail to Lake Catherine. It's a perfect hike for summer with lots of shade. Honestly other than wanting a longer hike lake Martha and Catherine didn't add a lot. Lake Mary is the prettiest and well worth the hike. I'd recommend poles is you have them to help on a few of the snow patches and the descent.
  • We love going up above Kamas, Utah every summer for camping, hiking and fishing. There are trails for all abilities as well as fishing, both fly fishing and regular. You can tent camp, trailer camp, bring your horses up to trail ride and dogs are aloud as long as they're on leash. The many lakes up here and different campgrounds make this place a haven for getting away from it all and back to nature. Enjoy all the wildlife but please be respectful of their space. 😊
  • This is a pretty forest. We like the scout camps located up here. They have a lot of stuff to do. My dog likes it. . . I think. This pic was at the fort camp up there.
  • Beautiful place. Trails are great for families with small kids, and are very well shaded. We saw many little creatures and tracks of larger ones. Great place for a picnic too!
