Create an itinerary including Multnomah Falls
The tallest waterfall in Oregon, and the second-tallest year-round waterfall in America, Multnomah Falls is a natural wonder imbued with Native American legend. Supposedly, the waterfall was created to woo a young princess who wanted a private place to bathe. Find the bottom of this 186 m (611 ft) icy fall after crossing the Benson Footbridge, and then continue up the trail for different views of the spectacle. After your hike, head to Multnomah Falls Lodge, a relaxing restaurant, gift shop, and information center built in 1925 from every type of rock found in Columbia Gorge. • We were surprised that the falls is really close to the city. Nice uphill walk to get to the bridge for a close up view of the falls. You can feel the mist. You might even catch sight of a rainbow...

  • Great short hike. Round trip from the parking lot it was about 3 miles. It was very snowy and a bit slippery today. Visibility was reduced but it was a pretty winter wonderland
  • Stunningly beautiful waterfalls a 30 minute drive away from downtown Portland. A must visit. Come in the winter when there's plenty of parking.
  • Wow! I have driven by many times but this was my first trip all the way to the top. Beautiful views and a strenuous hike up 11 switch backs.
  • Gorgeous!! A little bit crowded during peak hours, but if you go early you can enjoy the hike and the views without moving around crowds of people. The hike to the top was strenuous- 11 switchbacks with 9 being uphill- but definitely worth it!
  • Stunning waterfall located on Multnomah creek in the Colombian River George. If you don’t have a parking pass, please go after 6pm to get free parking. In summers waterfall can be viewed till 9 pm pst. There’s a short hike to the bridge. A small souvenier shop, coffee shop and most importantly, clean and nice bathrooms!!!
