  • If you want to experience true New England foliage that includes mountains and steam trains, this place is a must stop. Situated in New Hampshire Mountain scenery, it's a perfect place to go with friends or family. It's also the world's first mountain climbing train. You climb up a mountain riding brightly colored trains. Come during fall peak season for breath taking views of mountains dotted with trees of red, orange, and yellows! Ticket per person is pricy for $79 each, but it's a worthy one hour ride that takes you to the top of Mount Washington. Once you've reached the top there is an 1800's hotel now used as a museum and gift shops with a cafe inside the building! Nothing bad to say about this place and make sure you bring a jacket because it could get super cold up there!
  • We booked tickets on the coal-fired steam train to the top of Mount Washington. The sights, sounds and chugging of the steam engine were a really unique experience. The train crew was friendly and informative about the history of the train and how it operates. Bring some warm clothes for Mount Washington's unique weather as the temperature can differ by 20 or more degrees at the top.
  • One of the best experiences of my life, beautiful views, take the steam engine! There is nothing in the world like the sound of that engine pushing you up the mountain. Even if you can't see anything and there are 60 mile per hour winds at the top of the mountain, it is worth it!
  • Very beautiful and enjoyable. If your going to be in the area I would strongly suggest to make to the summit of Washington.
  • The steam engine is the way to go! And the brakeman was funny and very informative!
