Create an itinerary including Cuyahoga Valley National Park
Cuyahoga Valley National Park follows the Cuyahoga River, allowing visitors to hike or bike one of the many trails that showcase the region's waterfalls, old canals, and forests. The Towpath Trail runs 33.5 km (21 mi) along ravines and past craggy boulders. As you pass what look like typical farms, you'll discover that sections along the trails are recreated 19th- and early 20th-century farmland growing crops from these eras. You'll see several city parks included in the protected lands, many of which have concert and event venues. To tour the park while saving your feet, consider a ride on the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad. Facilities are available at either end of the trails, and a few restaurants and markets offer refreshments, but be sure to bring enough water for hike. • This park is amazing. Great trails and miles of them. Everything is well marked. Picnic areas are nice and easily accessible. Wildflowers in the Spring were incredibly beautiful.

  • It's such a beautiful national park. There are so many waterfalls, trails, scenic attractions, hidden gems to visit and discover in this park. You will definitely feel like wanting to come back. The review is only for the park though, would recommend avoiding the train ride, we did it because the kids were so excited and they wanted to do it, but yeah, there's absolutely nothing scenic about the train ride. Just take a map from the visitor center and you will find tonnes of beautiful natural attractions to visit.
  • Had an amazing time during a few day getaway to the park. Tons of waterfalls & trails & more than enough things for sight seeing/picture opportunities nearby & throughout the park. Wish I had a few more days there. Would love you visit again.
  • Amazing that there is a NP that has the river that caught fire. Now cleaned up this is a great park in the Midwest. They have 5 different NP stamps for your pass port and 1 more at the lock visitor center. Pro tip bring your bike and go for a ride on the tow path. Then jump on the train for a ride back for$5. Nice way to enjoy the park and ride the train. If you like this review or the park give us a like and follow us as we hit another 25 parks over the next 6 months.
  • Nice park and facilities. Large parking lot and easy access to Salt Run Trail which is about a little over 3 miles. The lake trail around the lake is much shorter and fairly flat while Salt Run is a but more challenging with steep hills and some very muddy areas to traverse. All adds up to a good weekend hike.
  • The best thing about and around Cleveland, but maybe even around Northeast Ohio. Lots of nature. An empire of wild plants and animals. And if that would not be enough, the Cuyahoga Valley National Park has a lot of scenic places, a wide variety of potential activities and a rich atmosphere of eventful historical past, that at least for a national park. One of those emblematic features is the Towpath Bike and Hike trail that connects the two metropolitan areas of Cleveland on the north and Akron on the south. Basically this trail is the backbone of the national park.
