  • Hands down the best beer in CT. Location is not the best (in an industrial park)but the tasting room is spacious and friendly. There is a room you can rent to host small events. We held a fundraiser h...  read more »
  • This was the first stop on our brewery tour. We enjoyed our tasting, sitting outdoors and the food truck. Easy on/off 95. Fun.
  • I had a Groupon for a beer tasting and went with friends this past weekend. The beers I sampled were great! The location has a very laid back vibe, with games at the tables and waitstaff that's very f...  read more »
  • Thimble Island is really coming into its own, fun little venue with plenty of seating and a bar open a little later than your typical brewery. They host events like paint nights fairly regularly, and some good food trucks visit. The beer is getting better and better as they move beyond their flagship "American Ale," as well.
  • We had an event in their private room for my birthday. We had about 45-50 people in there and all fit very comfortably with plenty of room to move around, talk, hang out and play some corn hole (my wife got it for me as a bday present that day and gave it to me there). The TIB staff and bartenders were a pleasure to work with from the first email inquiring about the room, all the way up to when we left. I can't say enough positive things about the people here and the beautiful space they have. I highly recommend it if you're looking for a fun place to have an event that also happens to have some of the best craft brews in CT.
  • THE GOOD: The Beers are amazing. I would give their beers a solid 5. Ghost Island is my favorite - a good balance of strong hops and the underlying taste. THE BAD: Only reason I gave them a 4 is because of the space. Could have been used much more efficiently - I did see that the back room is under construction. I know that they get enough business to invest a little into some seating, maybe even outdoor seating. THE UGLY: Nothing!
  • Great brewery. One of the best in CT. Brew tour was a lot of fun and the bar was too
  • We were looking for a place to host our wedding reception and had checked out a few locations, including other local area breweries. We found that even though Thimble Island had just moved and their event room wasn't even finished yet, they had such a vision for what they wanted to do with the new space. They were also much more friendly, helpful, and even offered a lot of good suggestions. The day went well, the service was great, some of my other vendors showed up early and they took care of managing that, when they really didn't have to, but they just wanted to make sure it all went well. The beer is also very good and they have 10 beers on tap currently of all different varieties, IPA, wheat, ale, stout, etc. I would recommend it to anyone wanting to host something or just go in and have a few beers.
