  • Had a fun time at Mixon's. I enjoyed the tour through the farm land, the rescue animals and care for them, the nature, history and enthusiasm of Kayla and Damian. Alfredo was so friendly in the cafe a...  read more »
  • We had fun even though it was off-season. Our guide was wonderful. She shared lots of information about the history of the orchard. We were able to see older equipment that used to be used for orchard...  read more »

  • great place must go if u have young kids !! tractor ride with a tour and a animal show. these animals are all rescued from the wild people . great store and ice cream orange. free cold orange juice too.
  • There is so much to do here! From taking the awesome tour through the grove with Mr. W then it stops at the Wildlife Rescue and Damen gives an outstanding presentation of the rescued animals and lets you hold and alligator. The huge gift shop with a deli and free samples of fudge, fresh squeezed orange juice, lemonade, and grapefruit juice. Also, free samples of their Mixon Select wines. This is a must stop if you are in the Tampa Bay area visiting. Their deli sandwiches and fresh baked cookies are delicious! My favorite is the BBQ sandwich and the tuna. They come with chips and a drink for a great price. The staff are very helpful and friendly so if you are look for a place to go after the beach go to Mixon's and get an orange swirl ice cream then stroll around the grounds and feed the koi fish or shop for gifts to take home. It's a great place to take visiting family from out of town.
  • Well after reading that there was going to be pre- ST.PATTY DAY EVENT with dancers etc, in the grove, I took my mom because her b-day will be thursday st.patty's day . Upon arriving we couldn't see anything that looked as though there was going to any ST.PATTY'S DAY celebration... very few decorations, and the only event was put on by "children"for about 15 mins...they were adorable, but we were disappointed ,the event calendar made it sound like a larger more st.patty celebration , we ate lunch and left...Be Careful what you say in your event ads...VERY DISAPPOINTED IN BRADENTON.
  • Very beautiful place..well maintained and their ice cream is yummy
  • Best part is the tram visit to the Wildlife refuge. Knowledgeable staff, learned about wildlife, got to hold a two-year-old alligator (with its mouth temporarily taped shut). Also has birds, wild boar, reptiles, tortoise, all unable to be released to the wild so used for educational purposes. Be sure to donate a few bucks to their collection box in the Mixon gift shop!
