  • It’s hard to “review” one of the most important pieces of American Land Art, about which books have been written, classes are taught, movies have been made…. This is not a random or casual thing to go...  more »
  • Other than a few small signs indicating distance to the Jetty, we made the mistake of giving up a half mile from the actual art installation. Spotting a car parked off the road, we drove down and were...  more »
  • It is off the grid, but worth the drive. Everyone needs to visit the jetty once in their life time. Just drive to the Golden Spike monument and from their it is 19 miles of dirt road. A small rocky cl...  more »
  • Dirt road for about 20 minutes or so, but we were able to go 45mph on it. Amazing creation and not many people there. Don't be afraid to walk out in the Lake you can go pretty far with it only being about 6 inches deep and it looks like you're walking on water!
  • Spiral Jetty, made by Robert Smithson, is an amazing land art work at the edge of Salt Lake in Utah. Before this project, Robert had already few land art works for experimental usage. I strongly suggest the audience to do some research about it before heading here. I HAVE ONE MORE THING TO SAY! I CAME TO THIS SITE AGAIN TODAY AND I WAS BIT BY A LOT OF BUGS OR FLIES, WHICH WAS SO ANNOYING AND I COULD'T EVEN GET OUT OF THE CAR. During the drive to leave the spiral, I stopped few cars on the roads and warned them the crazy existence of the bugs. I came to this place two years ago and that was a day in June I think. It was rainy and I didn't notice any bugs. I went back to the spike place, where it has two trains before you drive to spiral jetty. I asked the person on the front desk and he smiled to me. He told me that every year this situation happens. He told me that the desert area is lack of rain and only the lake area has some humidity. He told me the areas beside the lake are wonderful bugs or flies. This situation, that you can't get out of the car because of so many bugs, will happen every year in the spring and will end in June. I hope my information can be helpful for you guys to travel here! 01:30 5.9.2017
  • It's nice to look at, but there is more to it - the whole trip there, through the desert and unpaved roads, adds to the experience. It definitely clears your head. The entrance fee is charged in Time and Effort rather than in money, and it's very refreshing.
  • Beautiful scenery, love the road there. Very relaxing. I absolutely recommend coming to this place
  • Awesome view, absolutely breathtaking! Be careful of the roads, though. There is one decently maintained tourists road and one ATV/off-roading road. Please make sure that you are on the right one, as Google Maps decided it was a great idea to take my Malibu off-roading without telling me that there was another option. Twelve hours stuck in the mud and a $300 repair bill later, I was out, but one should definitely double-check Google directions on this one. Still, amazing once I got to the Jetty itself!
