  • I am an art historian, so I may be a bit biased, but the Spiral Jetty is so worth the drive. Sometimes the water level is too high to see Spiral Jetty, but you can look up the water level before you g...  more »

  • I had been wanting to come here for years and am so glad I finally did it. Definitely worth the 17 mile drive down a dirt road to get here. What an amazing piece of art in an amazing part of the country. The water on this side of the lake is pink in color due to the algae that grow here. I can't wait to come back here again.
  • It's a fun place to visit for the artistic value if nothing else. The experience is unique because of the Great Salt Lake but as of now (2016) the lake is almost a half a mile away from the jetty. The road to the jetty is easy to follow but rough and dusty. I would not take my "nice" car but it's fine for a truck or a car you don't mind driving 10 miles on a washboard dirt road.
  • It will look shady along the way but just keep driving. And don't take a car you love unless you're okay with it getting wrecked with mud. It's a bumpy ride too so take the front seat of you get car sick. When you get there just enjoy the silence and beauty of our dynamic earth. Walk out to the pink water to get your mind blown and feel otherworldly.
  • Cool place to go with friends or on a date or even just alone! Worth the drive - beautiful view of a beautiful landscape and piece of art. The Jetty itself is breathtaking, but the pink water of the Great Salt Lake is awe inspiring as well. Would not recommend swimming unless an immediate shower is nearby. Watch out for tar pits and sharp shards of salt embedded in the sand.
  • Okay, so this place can be very hot and if you go with the wrong expectations it can be a little bit of a let down. However, if you go at the right time and with the right attitude it is--simply breathtaking. In my opinion it (and the Great Salt Lake right behind it) are a must see if living in or visiting Utah. It is a little bit of a drive to get there (a fair bit of that is on dirt roads), and it can smell a little funny but again-- in my opinion-- it is totally worth it. I would recommend planning on getting there about 1 hour before Sunset for the best views.
