2.8/5 based on 850+ reviews on the web
Take a thrill ride in Gotham City or cruise in Hurricane Harbor at Six Flags America. If you're an adrenaline seeker, you can ride up toward the sky before spinning, twirling and dropping down at 50 miles per hour. There are also more sedate options for all ages. Kids can ride through the park in a retro, child-sized train. Also a few live shows, with singing and dancing, are suitable for both kids and adults. To make sure you don't miss any must-dos, consult the park map when you arrive and plot out your visit. Put Six Flags America and other Bowie attractions into our Bowie trip itinerary planner, and watch your holiday take shape.

  • I bought season passes for my entire family because the deal was so good. Well, you know how the saying goes "you get what you pay for." I have been here on 3 separate occasions in the last year and a...  read more »
  • Best ride -- Superman by far, and then Batwing in my opinion Now the bad rating goes to.. service, or lack there of. 1) Johnny Rockets - it will take you 30+ minutes to get your food here, I'm sorry b...  read more »
  • This was our first time at six flags America. We regularly go to Busch gardens and Hershey park. By no means did I expect this to be Disney quality, but it was not even on par with kings dominion. We ...  read more »
  • Nice park, with very fun games. I would say that if you have the opportunity to come when hurricane harbor is open, do it. Why I say that? The thrill rides are good, but you will only find about 5 that are really worth it. So, by having several, really cool, water rides, you can have a great day over there. Tip: if you plan to rent a locker at some point of the day, do it the moment you get to the park because the small ones ($13) become sold out really quick, and after that you will only have the option to rent a bigger one ($15) that will increase its price along the day.
  • My sister and I took our kids there took our kids a few weeks ago and we had a great time. We had read many negative reviews so we were a little concerned but the kids had received free tickets from school so we decided to give it a chance. We went on a Wednesday so weekends might be different, but we had a fantastic time. The staff was exceptionally nice and very helpful. We all had a great time and look forward to going again sometime.
  • Closed on August 23!!! Unbelievable!! I drove with the family from NJ to the DC area. Im a Gold Member at Six Flags Great Adventure, bought tickets online for the rest of my party and drove to the park. I couldn't believe it was closed! Cars were driving in and being turned around. Don't they know that most of America is still out of school! Giving this location 1 star is being generous!
  • Basically no lines which is nice but the staff is horrible no matter where you go in the park. Everyone has a bad attitude and seems bothered that they have to work. The superman ride is a waste of time as well. It takes so long to get everyone's virtual reality headsets working that by the time it's your turn to ride, it breaks down again. Hurricane harbor is the place to spend your time. It was the best part of the overall experience.
  • As long as you don't come in expecting Cedar Point or Six Flags Great Adventure level thrills, you will have a great time. They have a decent collection of coasters and some nice flats to round out a fairly good park. It isn't as big as the more popular parks, but it maintains a nice atmosphere with some fun rides. Definitely a must visit if you live nearby and even if it's a bit of a drive if you have a pass. So, it's not the biggest and best, but it's a nice smaller park.
