  • A beautiful area to walk, hike the flatirons and learn of the history of the area. Eating at the dining hall was fun and got us out of the wind. Food and staff were wonderful
  • Great to walk the grounds with a combined Flatirons hike. They are right next to each other. Also worth a look for overnight stays if you are traveling with the family.
  • I hiked to the top of Chautauqua completely by accident. I had planned to go for a walk, was wearing knee high boots and a crop top and had no water on me. By the time I realised, I was half way up a ...  more »

  • Took this trail up to Royal Arch. The Royal Arch is absolutely beautiful but be warned it is a trek up. Boulder and rocks are your stairs and path up to Royal Arch! But it is rewarding when you reach the top! The views are just magnificent and the arch is a sight to see. During the weekend the trails at Chautauqua are very busy! Parking can be limited. I would suggest heading out early during the summer months. Happy Hiking!!
  • Great trail head for both a quick hike or a long excursion. The bottom portion of the trail is approachable yet offers some fantastic views. Quickly accessible from downtown Boulder.
  • Perfect place to start many after work hikes. You never know who you'll meet on these trails and the panoramic views are breathtaking!
  • Trails in every direction. The Flat Irons and beautiful views of the mountains. The smell of meadows.
  • Great place to take an out-of-town visitor for a quick hiking experience
