Chautauqua serves as a gathering place for community enrichment and a gateway to Colorado's natural beauty. The institution was founded around the turn of the 20th century as part of a widespread educational and cultural movement directed at rural America. Now, the complex offers lodging and accommodations, as well as food, entertainment, and event venues. At the historical dining hall, enjoy a meal with a scenic view of trees and mountains. Join a town walking tour of the facility and its associated buildings, which includes an auditorium listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Tours offered by the complex itself are also available. Be sure to book early as they fill up fast. • This is a large beautiful park. A great place to grab your lunch and enjoy the fresh air and scenery. Parking is the only problematic thing we encountered.
  • At the bottom of baseline is the rangers office, they have good maps and very good advice. Grading your walks and routes was very important. There are several places with view points, specially Woods ...  read more »
  • Spent the better part of one day and one evening here. Lovely! Gorgeous hikes, as strenuous as you like. Great park area for picnic, lawn games, etc.
  • Took this trail up to Royal Arch. The Royal Arch is absolutely beautiful but be warned it is a trek up. Boulder and rocks are your stairs and path up to Royal Arch! But it is rewarding when you reach the top! The views are just magnificent and the arch is a sight to see. During the weekend the trails at Chautauqua are very busy! Parking can be limited. I would suggest heading out early during the summer months. Happy Hiking!!
  • Great trail head for both a quick hike or a long excursion. The bottom portion of the trail is approachable yet offers some fantastic views. Quickly accessible from downtown Boulder.
  • The trails here offer great meadow views of the Flatirons, and you can continue some of the trails all the way up the Flatirons themselves. You can get a great view of the city from up there. It can get crowded on weekends, so arrive very early for a parking spot. Trails are easy enough for anyone in the family, and some can continue to be a moderately challenging hike.
  • Perfect place to start many after work hikes. You never know who you'll meet on these trails and the panoramic views are breathtaking!
  • Super fun, easy-moderate hike. Good for all ages, and so many amazing views of Boulder all throughout the hike!
