We love taking the dog down to the dog beach section past the Camp grounds, its a great place to go if you want to cool off from the hott Vegas desert heat.
Had a really good time swimming in Lake Mead water was about 76° although it did cost $20 to get in to Lakemeade recreation area. Would go back again a lot of fun
Stayed on the new front row with a beautiful view of the lake. Sunset was amazing. Great site.kid friendly
I've stayed here twice, and both were good experiences. Nice sites, picnic tables, room for two tents. restrooms were nice. Never made it to the lake, but the campground was scenic and didn't feel too much like the surrounding desert.
GREAT views, abundant shade, well maintained tent/RV sites, open area, playground, clean & well lit restrooms, the lake is only a few hundred yards away and even when it's crowded it doesn't feel crowded
My only negative about this place is that you can't make reservations, and we didn't know how full it would be. We ended up staying at the full hook-up RV park next door for the first few nights because of this. When we decided to stay in the area a few more days, we were SO glad to come here for those extra nights. We prefer campgrounds (woodsy, trees, privacy) to RV parks (parking lot style), so this was way better for us. The campground didn't get completely full, but there seemed to be very few RV spaces available over the weekend in March. I don't doubt that it fills fast during the more peak season and holidays, etc.
They set the price to 20 Dollars a night and don't provide showers any more! That is a rip off. But still the camp spots are ok and flat. There are water toilets that are clean as well and a water filling station with pottable water.
Beautiful campgrounds, gorgeous views of the lake, well kept, friendly staff! I highly recommend staying! They make you feel welcome and even put up with our doggies! Walter and Lee were especially kind and genuinely cared for our needs during our visit. We will definitely be back next year! ; ) PJR~
