  • Wow... best breakfast we had in Boston! Apple and brie omelette... morning Monte cristo... stuffed French toast and pancakes... monster cheese-stuffed tater tots! All incredible. Friendly service... n...  read more »
  • Cute cafe and bookstore on Newberry St, lovely to sit outside on warm Boston day. The focaccia bread on sandwich though wasn't fresh, which ruined a possibly great lunch. Side salad unremarkable. All ...  read more »

  • Love this place!! Their mushroom burger is amazing! As a vegan there are so many options its overwhelming! The atmosphere is unique and warm. The service is always timely and everyone is friendly. They're also really chill about splitting the check even between 15 people.
  • Went here a couple years back but forgot the name. Their house ramen was exceptional, especially on a cold winter evening! Easily better than Wagamama, and I even preferred it to Santouka Hokkaido in Cambridge. It was also nice to browse the book selection whilst waiting for the food to arrive.
  • The server was fantastic and super chill. Great classic book selection as well as some newer books of recent series. Coffee was delicious as was the cream brulee and waffle sundae! Loved the atmosphere! Book cafes are something the world doesn't have enough of.
  • Probably my favorite brunch joint in Boston. It's half a bookstore/half a cafe which creates a unique atmosphere. Both sweet and savory options are great. Can't really go wrong with anything on the menu. Service was fast, even in the busiest hours. Definitely recommend making a reservation if you don't want to wait around.
  • The food was fine. Nothing extraordinary or even great. Our waitress was short and unfriendly. We got our food quickly, but then didn't get any follow up until we requested our check. We personally didn't have a terrible experience with her but I saw her be incredibly rude to another customer because of a misunderstanding concerning a menu item. The customer didn't get what she thought she was ordering and asked for a simple change from the bus boy. The bus boy was about to oblige when the waitress stepped in and hatefully explained that there were no substitutions. When the customer explained that she thought she was ordering something different the waitress condescendingly explained what the menu item was. She abruptly asked the customer if she wanted to look at the menu. When the customer meekly responded "yes" after being publicly berated the waitress said "great" in a sarcastic tone and threw a menu on her table and then stomped off. She then went behind the bar, rolled her eyes, huffed and puffed and complained to a fellow co-worker less than four feet from the customer. The customer looked at the menu for a few minutes and then to my great joy and pride, stood up for herself and left. I was so appalled by the unprofessional and rude behavior of this Trident employee that I just had to write this review. It was disgusting to watch and totally ruined my experience here. Trident lost two customers today: me and that poor woman.
