I have never had so much fun buying produce!!! The selection of produce and fish went on and on. The vendors were entertaining and the bargains plentiful. Next time I'll bring bigger bags.  more »

Dang, who doesn't like a bargain? Or bargaining? If you do, this is the place for you! We can't resist the deals like 3 hefty juicy Crenshaw melons for 5 bucks (vs. $2 for one), or a dollar for a cont...  more »

Really good prices for fruits and veggies! It's open every Friday and Saturday, with Friday being less crowded (naturally). It's cash only, but so cheap I usually end up doing all of my shopping for the week for under $20. The things you get here you'll probably want to eat within a week, especially fruits.

One of my favorite markets for fresh produce and striking prices. You won't be able to get prices here anywhere around Boston, even for wholesale.. I doubt. Open on Fridays and Saturdays, it's usually very packed because of the crazy deals and markdowns for anything ranging from blood oranges to heirloom tomatoes. They also have seafood stalls right beside Boston Public Market, if you're there early enough, there's one stall that does shuck oysters and clams you can eat right in the market with cocktail sauce and lemons $5 for 5. YUM

Awesome place to come get bulk, inexpensive produce and fish in Boston. They have a huge selection, are open year round, and you can get amazing deals. Make sure to walk around to all the vendors before buying anything as prices and quality can vary between vendors. Bring cash and sturdy bags to carry everything home! Word of caution, certain items such as berries may have a very limited shelf-life so expect to use most items within 48 hours of purchase.

Love the outside Haymarket! It's only on Fridays and Saturdays, and you can get really really cheap and decent/great produce. Some even locally grown. I make it my business to come here at least once every 2 weeks. I recommend this market to everyone.

Fresh produce farmers market. Available Friday - Sunday only. Some seller are very kind and allow you to pick what produce you want to purchase and others pick for you (i.e. which apples from the pile of apple you want. The majority hand you a bag to pick what you want). Go early if you don't like large crowds.

Where to stay in Boston

To stay close to where most of Boston's tourist action is, book a room at one of the many hotels located downtown, near the center of the city and state governments, businesses, and shopping. For a more affordable option, consider a budget-friendly boutique hotel or small bed and breakfast in one of the city's diverse residential neighborhoods. If you plan to stay longer and need a real home away from home, explore Boston's short-term rental options, which include private villas, waterfront lofts, and luxury apartments scattered across the city's historical districts.
