Boothbay Craft Brewery Reviews
We arrived at 6 pm for dinner w 2 kids in tow. The nasty hostess looked at the kids (aged 11 and 7, not infants), then looked at me and rolled her eyes as she shook her head ‘no’. She said they were f... more »
Nice big rig pull thru site, pretty level & picturesque. Super friendly hosts & interesting tour of small local brewery. To avoid narrow Adams Pond road, take ME-27 (Wiscasset Rd) past Adams Pond Rd t... more »
We stopped at the brewery for lunch. Surprise! A large group of bikers had arrived unexpectedly and filled nearly every seat. Fortunately, we had booked a table - and there it was, waiting for us. The... more »
The beer is amazing and the selection is one of the best in Maine, and that's saying something. Only had fries but they were amazing and everyone's meals looked good.
Cool atmosphere and good beer. Unfortunately they keep very odd hours, only being open until 4:30 on some days. With the number of tourists in the area I can't help but think they're leaving a lot of money on the table.
This place was a really pleasant surprise as we went on a whim. The restaurant and bar are terrific, rustic and very comfortable feel and look. We loved it! The brewery is attached to the restaurant and you can sit in the balcony part overlooking the working brewery, very nice touch. Folks were very friendly, we met one of the owners who went out if her way to show us the place. We sat at one of the very unique bars to eat and taste. They had plenty of brews to choose from, I had a six paddle taster, and all were very good beers. Even my wife, who doesn't really care for beers liked their porter style. I had one of their pizzas and my wife had their chowder, again very good food! Definitely would turn into their parking lot again and wish them luck, I also like their connection to Dogfish brewery.
We walked out. This place is a cluster****. Friday July 7th around 2:30pm: we arrive to a fairly full parking lot and went inside after reading the conspicuously posted instructions on the door. Walked up to the bar and tried to order (as per the lengthy instructions) but were told we needed a table first. Server seated us at a table and explained the food to us even though we told her we only wanted a tasting, and then told us to decide what we wanted and come back up to the bar to order. That took about a minute and we walked back up to the bar and there was then a long line. Apparently there was a function upstairs which caused Boothbay to change the way they ran the pub that day. Anyway we left. Prioritizing a function over people who have driven long distances to visit you is never a good look. Their system is convoluted and pointless, they need to simplify the way they run their business. Full table service is not necessary. Also… flights are $12 for 4 tastings, compared to $3 at Baxter in Lewiston. Went out to purchase canned beer from the cooler in the brewery and the guy there acted as if we were inconveniencing him by asking how much they cost. In case you were wondering 4 pint cans of beer are $12… The same as a tasting! 😂
Great! Great Service, Great Food, Great Beer, and Great view of the brewery. We stopped in after an evening looking at the lights in the botanical gardens. We had no reservations but they found us a spot upstairs over looking the brewery. It was a little cool but it was much quieter than the other dining areas. They said that they had a lot of people that came just before his and the service maybe slow, they were wrong. The service, food, and beer all could not have been better.
