  • I spent many hours when my kids were younger hiking with them at Tourne Park. Not too strenuous so good for younger kids.  more »
  • Came here on a brisk saturday afternoon for a walk. Easy places to park and a choice of trails - I took the longest trail which took me an hour at a fast pace, also stopped off at a lake which was bea...  more »
  • I live nearby and frequent The Tourne. A place to hike with a spectacular view from the top of the hill. Good for birdwatching with lots of flora and fauna. The Tourne also has an extension on the Old...  more »

  • Its a beautiful place. Many good and easy hiking trails. Hike to the top point is slightly steep and you might need to catch your breath few times. From the top you can see very far distant view of newyork skyline. Park also has a kids playing area that make it a spot suitable for whole family as well.
  • The tourne is great spot! It has a field, a pavilion, and a nice little hike where you can see NYC from the top on a clear day. I go to the tourne somewhat frequently and to my knowledge no-one has ever been mauled by a bear here. I just did a quick google search to confirm, and no, noone has been mauled by a bear so far... but wouldn't it be freaky if after I posted this someone DID get attacked by a bear? I would feel really bad, like somehow I cosmically jinxed somebody. What if I get attacked by a bear? Oh god... Anyway, I would recommend Tourne Park👍five stars ☆☆☆☆☆
  • Just over 1 mile hike to the top. Very rocky, wear shoes with good grip. We did see one dog but thought the terrain would be too rough on our pup's paws. Off season porta potties only. Reservoir Tavern nearby makes for a nice lunch spot before or after your hike.
  • Nice trails; a good (though small) playground for young kids. I haven't explored much yet but my first impression is very good.
  • I actually love this place, but I'm from out of town, and the signage is really lacking in a few places. (Roads and parking areas are questionable too.) For example, you come to a T on the Evergreen Trail, and it's supposed to be a loop. Um.... Which way? Give yourself extra time to navigate junctions like this. There's a few. I should be able to look up and down a trail from a junction, and see a color marking. There were no maps available, and google maps is helpful, but shouldn't have to be used often on the trail. Stick to the trails that a truck can drive on, and you're probably "on" the trail. That's the reason for the 4 stars. Otherwise, the Park gets 5-star eating for terrain and nice, moderately-challenging trails. I'm recovering from a hip injury and there's enough terrain here to do a couple trails in an hour. I did both the Evergreen and the Decamp (plus a lotta backtracking and changing my mind) and ended up with 3.5 miles logged. I'd highly recommend this place, despite my gripes above.
